Re: Nord Haus - 315 1st Ave NE (208' - 20 Stories)

I noticed that Nord Haus is visible from the upper deck at Target Field yesterday. The panorama of towers will only get better.

Re: St. Paul Palace Theater renovation

Anyone going tonight (or in the near future)?
Yep, Phantogram on Sunday!
Impression? I had friends who went on Friday - I heard nothing but praise. My suspicion is that Roy Wilkins is no longer a viable option for concerts.

Re: Breweries and Taprooms

FISHMANPET, since beer is a no-go for you, have you tried Tattersall, Wander North, or Norseman distilleries? Or Sociable Cider Werks for that matter? Or is your issue predominantly the lack of on-site food at tap rooms? I live in NE and love the tap room scene. That being said, I've been thinking w...

Re: Presidential Election 2016

So AMC is showing election night coverage in their theaters. To prevent issues with/exacerbate the partisan divide, they're doing this at two theaters in each metro area, and designating one as blue and one as red in each, based on voter registration. Here, the 'red' theater is Southdale, and the '...

No kidding. You don't have to go to BC to see the effect. Have you been to the Black Hills recently? They aren't so black anymore.

Saw signs up for Mercury Dining Room and Rail - now hiring for all positions. Windows were wide open to the Foreign Legion space as well and it looked like they were clearing out all of the furniture.

Apologies for being dense here...but what exactly are we discussing?
Stealing Nathan's joke here, but no apology necessary - this crowd is pro-density.

Just wanted to note how nice this is looking, particularly in comparison to that utterly disposable hotel across the street from the library.

Other than leering, what are the objections to the trough?
As I told my brother, "Remember the good ol' days, when you'd wear shorts to the Metrodome, and feel the blowback spray from the kid next to you hit you in the shins as you stepped up to the pee trough? Yeah...that was awesome."

A loving mashup of Centre Village and 33 South Sixth? With that one University Avenue Television building thrown on like an inner-tube at the midsection?

Not a fan.
