I wonder if this move essentially kills the C Line aBRT relocation to Glendale.
I also hope this motivates MnDOT to take another look at rightsizing Olson Hwy, or just flat out decommission the Hwy outside the Mpls city limits.

Re: Go Minneapolis - Transportation Action Plan
Call me a skeptic, but I have a feeling that we will be spending a whole bunch of study money and time on re-studying those high-capacity transit corridors, instead of building upon the existing alternative analyses and feasibility studies. Now that the Midtown Greenway corridor project has been dor...

The first phase of the Highway 5 construction will only close the EB lanes, from April to August.
I think they *could've* still served the airport with WB Rt 54, at least till August.

I couldn't find a handy table that summarizes all the projects so far, but here's the list of projects in the pipeline, including Gold Line.

Does anyone know where to find the full rankings/formula online, or if this data is publicly available? I've been digging through FTA website, but to no avail.

Probably one of the chapters on the EIS document has the AA information you're looking for.

Re: Fantasy maps
I don't know where to put this so I'll just put it here. Awhile back I asked about the ability of regional trains to share track with Southwest LRT trains. Besides needing clearance from the FRA and railroads (and FTA?) what infrastructure would be required? As much as I would love to see this conc...

Would've been very cool if the docking station also worked as an e-bike charger.

Re: B Line Lake St Rapid Bus, Midtown Rail Transit
I am also betting on this service becoming a very successful route. No doubt. Regarding the ridership mismatch between west and east of Hiawatha Ave, we should probably revisit the Midtown Corridor Streetcar/LRT soon, ideally along with the implementation of B Line. Guess we just need more people to...

Re: Mall of America - Bloomington
Delivery vehicles often delayed things due to the need to interact with the people in the guard post, and often have walk-around inspections, and the trains would halt the movement of outbound buses when the gates were down, and inbound traffic often got backed up by that too (usually due to an inb...

Re: Bus Destination Signage
I think we are talking more about the network design of the system itself, which is a very much related issue, but not exactly the same issue, so allow me to bring the conversation back to the way the system introduces and displays the network to end users. (i.e. signage) And I don't think it's nece...

Re: Public Transit News and Current Happenings
That being said, I wonder the degree of impact of Hennepin > Nicollet detours (compared to that of previous Nicollet > Hennepin detours) on ridership. The detours have been making the service slower, less reliable, and less legible. EDIT: Whatever happened to the detours when the farmers markets hap...

Re: Public Transit News and Current Happenings
There are plenty of things to blame for why the ridership declined, but if we're going to blame the weather, we should also add the AADT count or traffic count to see how much ridership declined compared to that of the general auto traffic. Some people just don't travel if the weather is bad, period...

I'm probably not the first one who had this question, but, does anyone know why Mpls does not have a separate "department of transportation", and instead lumps it under the department of pubic works?

TriMet in PDX has the authority to ban passengers for life for subsequent, violent crime on transit. It used to be six months max, but they changed the policy to up to one year for first time offences, and up to life for offences after that.

I wonder if people of St. Anthony/Lauderdale/Falcon Heights actually prefer to be living out of the Minneapolis/St. Paul city limits, or if there is any other benefits to it, such as lower tax, maybe? I understand there's history behind small villages not wanting to be annexed by growing major citie...
