Re: National Marrow Donor Program HQ - (524 Fifth Street Nor
I do like this version better than the last but in this neighborhood, I think it should look more...warehouse-like. More bricks is what I'm saying, I guess.

Re: Rumors!
With the rumors of one or two (or more!) tall and skinny buildings coming to Minneapolis, I thought I would post this link. It displays some of the tallest and skinniest skyscrapers from around the world. I would love for Minneapolis to have any of these. http://www.mnn.com/your-home/remodeling-desi...

Re: Penn and American - Bloomington
A new all organic non-GMO produce grocery store is coming to the Penn and American area of Bloomington. The story can be found here: http://www.bizjournals.com/twincities/morning_roundup/2013/10/bloomington-oks-hotelgrocery-for-penn.html The website for the grocer is there: http://www.freshthyme.com...

I think the rendering looks awesome and I would love for Washington to became the next 'hot spot' in town.

Re: Vikings Stadium
Perhaps I read the 'Finance-commerce' article to fast but am I understanding it to say that they would (could) build retail on the street and put the parking behind the retail? If so, I'm all for hiding parking!

Re: Star Tribune Blocks
Count me in as a member of the "Close the Streets Through the Park!" club (CTSTTP for short). I absolutely hate that they are keeping them open. I now have a 'why bother' kind of attitude when it comes to building the park. Sorry, guys.

Re: Shapco Printing Site - (524 Fifth Street North)
I only thought it was a letdown because I thought this was the same block as the highrise. Now that I've been corrected, I don't mind this building. I do agree that some sort of retail is needed. Are there currently any coffee shops or deli's in the area?

Ah, Sorry fotoapparatic; I thought it was the same buildings. So we may still yet get those really cool all glass high rise buildings.

Re: Shapco Printing Site - (524 Fifth Street North)
It is a letdown. Like you said, fotoapparatic, those towers looked really great and would have made a great addition to the North Loop. I wonder if studies were done to determine whether or not the suns glare off of an all glass high-rise would have been an issue during Twins games (they are both ow...

Re: Shapco Printing Site - (524 Fifth Street North)
It's official. Be the Match is building its new corporate HQ near Target Field in the NoLo. Not sure if the picture associated with the article is the official building but if I'm not mistaken, wasn't this building originally going to be 30 stories or something and all glass? Perhaps I'm thinking of...

Re: Star Tribune Blocks
I honestly don't have a problem with the 6 story condos but my larger issue is having a street that run's directly through the park. This is what's happening, correct, or am I mistaken?

Thanks for the link, mullen. I'm anxious to get inside this building to check it out in person. Now, if only I could hear some music while inside.

Re: Star Tribune Blocks
Please forgive me for asking as I'm sure my answer is somewhere in the 59 pages of comments but I can't find the answer. Is 361 feet taller, shorter, or right on par to what we thought?A knowledgeable and reliable source is telling me the two Ryan towers will now top out at 361 feet

Is the taller building in the center of the above picture new to the project or has it always been a possibility?

Re: Hines Office Project - (350 North Fifth Street)
Any news on this project? I would love to see this one completed. There was also a proposed highrise residential apartment that seems to have disappeared. I can't remember the name or address but I think it was 1010 Nicollet or something like that. I haven't heard about either of these projects in s...

Is there a killer baby clown in the reflection on the glass of the building in front of the wells fargo center in the rendering on page 6? Or do i need to call it a night. http://www.ci.minneapolis.mn.us/www/groups/public/@cped/documents/webcontent/wcms1p-110193.pdf HAHA. Great catch, minnyapple! I...

Re: LPM Apartments - (1368 LaSalle Avenue)
If some of the new possible towers tower over the IDS (pun intended), what are the chances the commissioners will veto their construction? Some folks falsely believe the IDS building is so iconic that it should remain as the focal point of downtown and my fear is; the IDS will continue to be our tal...
