Re: Superior Plating site

The center portion was modernized with a new facade, but it is basically the same. The truck bays were car bays. I have always hoped when this building was redeveloped, they could save the cast iron columns that divide the car bays to use in the new development. http://maps.google.com/maps?q=1st+ave+...

You wouldn't want to use the old depot, it's on the other side of 169 from downtown.

Re: Nic on Fifth - (455 Nicollet Mall)

That was my next question. Each space has a very distinctive feel, but they do work as a whole. I'd expect some strange parking validation for valet now.

Re: Star Tribune Blocks

The oddity of the Strib building is that it is actually 3 buildings (or 4) wrapped in a continuous facade. As the paper grew, so did the building. Ryan has done historic rehab before. It should be something they can easily tackle, if they're willing.

Nope, that's across the street at Elsewherehouse Blue plate will be 701, or something odd in the 700s.

Re: Star Tribune Blocks

I would far prefer closing 5th street through this section and landscaping it heavily than to have two full block parks. The current county uses (Jail, huge parking ramps, Judicial Offices etc.) facing these game-day plazas, *oops, I mean 'parks', aren't going to change, nor add any vitality to such...

Not a fan of # of floors in the title, mainly because it doesn't matter.

Perhaps you're thinking of this specimen that was on the market a while back.

It is a bizarre gash, especially since most of the rest of the Lowry reconstruction was voted down. https://maps.google.com/maps?q=lowry+and+aldrich+minneapolis&hl=en&ll=45.01333,-93.287895&spn=0.008237,0.021136&sll=44.981863,-93.289543&sspn=0.032966,0.084543&t=h&hnear=N+...

Unfortunately it isn't the first priority, but crosswalks and corners are cleared by front end loaders. It usually occurs late at night/ early morning, after the snow emergency has passed. Priority seems to be major transit cooridors.

Re: Currie Park Lofts Phase I

If they've got to move an old saloon, I doubt they'd be able to demolish the mixed blood building. It really is a marvelous building that could easily be worked around.

Got stuck on traffic this evening on 55. First floor is up, beginning the wooden second floor on the south end. It certainly is hard to the tracks!

Oh, fetishism, of course. Back on Minnescraper- you were blaming the developer: http://minnescraper.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=1533&start=135 I don't know what being a liberal area has to do with it, but I agree and will be sourly disappointed both if this developer causes Trader Joe's ...
