Re: Public Transit News and Current Happenings
Earlier this year they began replacing all the Go-To Card readers with modern tech, so maybe this'll be possible if they start distributing replacement cards.

Re: Gold Line (Gateway Corridor BRT)
From Finance & Commerce, they've finalized the eastern end of the route pending public comment. The route generally stays north of 94, turns right at Settler's Ridge Pkwy and crosses 94, turns left on Hudson Rd, then left on Manning and crosses BACK over 94 to get to the proposed Manning Park an...

Re: Public Transit News and Happenings
I think witnessed my first instance of MT turning a bus around when it got too far behind. There was a 5A (goes to 38th/Chicago) with a 5E (MOA) right behind it. The 5A was late because the 5E was on time. I was at Hennepin & 8th. Then the 5A changed its digital sign to "South Garage" ...

Starting August 31, the Campus Shuttles will be restructured. A full explanation of the new routes can be found here: http://www1.umn.edu/pts/bus/index.html However, they don't have maps of the new routes yet, so I made one: https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=zHlSTQIk0dL0.kWEnK96DYEuY&usp=sh...

Aside from the Washington intersection, I think it looks good! And it was a nice surprise to see that the bikeway will be separated by a curb south of Fulton.

Re: 7th Street Transit "Advantage" Bus Stops
Well i went ahead and emailed the Minneapolis contact for the project and he got back to me impressively quickly! Anyways, here's his update on the project: "There was a gap planned between the completion of the bump out and the installation of the shelter. The shelter delivery was scheduled 14...

Re: Orange Line (35W BRT) & Lake St Transit Access Project
I asked the lead planner, Christina Morrison, about additional stations at Franklin and 38th awhile back and this is what she said: "I am the planner working on the Orange Line, and this good question stumped me, too – these discussions predate my time at Metro Transit. But I have been doing a ...

I remember Brian Lamb talking at a recent Transportation Committee meeting and admitting that the way they're doing the system ("piecemeal" was his word) didn't allow them to construct OMFs as efficiently as they'd like.

Re: "A Line" Snelling Avenue Arterial Bus
Since the buses are the same as the ones MT usually buys, just with some internal and external enhancements, I'm guessing only the front will kneel. They said that they'd go for "near level" boarding and do nine-inch sidewalks where they could, so the doors will probably not always be flus...

Re: Bicycle Infrastructure
Was just looking at the layout for the Ford Parkway reconstruction today. I know this is way way late, but my lord this is a TERRIBLE layout for bikes. I looked at it and saw 6' bike lanes and thought "Oh well, that's not that bad" and then I looked at the parking lanes. Seven feet. SEVEN ...

Re: 7th Street Transit "Advantage" Bus Stops
So the curb extension with a foundation has been sitting at 7th and Hennepin/1st for quite awhile now with no progress. Anyone know if this was delayed by the high bid for the A-line stations? Or was there planned to be a gap in work?

Bike lanes have finally been painted on 36th St between Bryant and Dupont, connecting Bryant to the Protected Bikeway. I wrote a streets.mn post about it: https://streets.mn/2015/07/16/36th-and-b ... connected/
