Re: Target Center Renovation
10 years is still a little while away, however same location would be perfect since we invested all that transit info structures. Expand the footprint over 7th and 394 if necessary. Would mean better outside space combined with target field and easier connections to A ramp and maybe even B ramp.

Re: E Line Arterial BRT
I do like the upgrades the "aBRT" service provides on the A Line, but if anybody thinks it's "Light Rail on Wheels" they're delusional. It's the baseline for good, reliable bus service and nothing more. Dr. Delusional here, hello. Completely disagree for the record. Having a bet...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Office Market
But St. Paul is behind Minneapolis Candidly I don't see that ever changing. If St. Paul where to annex the other Saint Paul’s and Bloomington then I’d say we have a more balanced twin cities. (I know I know geography) I think of St. Paul as a boomburg (a suburb city over 100k) it’s a very nice old ...

I’m willing to wait until 2035-2040.. I think by then the demand will be there! It’s almost 22 so that’s 13-18 years.. that’s not TOO far into the future. I have hope again!

Re: The Dayton's Project
The latest article in the Star Tribune about new investors coming in to prevent the foreclosure mentioned a November opening. This must mean the food hall in the basement is opening, right? Are there any other retail tenants? I'm hoping Banana Republic eventually decides to open a store, but I just...

Re: The Dayton's Project
I guess I was wrong about the eventual foreclosure. The Dayton's Project was able to secure a new loan and they plan on a November opening. Good news. https://m.startribune.com/new-financing-announced-for-daytons-project-development/600089625/ Lul ...it’s not a real downtown Minneapolis retail busi...

Re: Orange Line / 35W@94: Downtown to Crosstown Project
I'm thinking 300 may be a bit generous for the American stop. I just don't see what will draw people to that stop considering in 2017 a 577,073 sq/ft office tower on a LRT line could only draw 220 daily riders. The LRT station on Lake street on the other hand had ridership of 2,534. I assume you're...

Re: B Line Lake St Rapid Bus, Midtown Rail Transit
My understanding was the one track was limited to a few small sections. With nearly completely ROW and prioritization I don’t understand agree with the assumption that it cannot be an expressway. Plus as capacity is needed I imagine those 1 track sections can be upgraded as construction repairs are ...

Re: B Line Lake St Rapid Bus, Midtown Rail Transit
I'm all for improving bus service on Lake Street, but there's a rail trench 1 block away, which should be a priority too. I feel like everyone has forgotten about the midtown greenway.. I feel like a reminder protest with oversized pictures of said corridor could be helpful.. seriously it should be...

IMO Silver Line would be a better fit, with the 2 east metro BRTs then being Gold and Silver. Plus it would reserve Purple for Riverview. But mostly I’m annoyed at the Purple thing because a Ramsey County Commissioner long ago earmarked Purple for this line specifically because it gave them Purple ...

Looks neat, is the old skyway segment through the parking ramp still open? I always liked that part to cool off shortly before continuing through the piping hot skyways during winter when you overdressed.

Why is it I can open my phone and use 16 apps to find every single road to drive somewhere... yet there is no such app you can find all these small city bus lines without having to search and search and dig and find out the hard way... ought to be something like amtrack where you can find all lines ...

Re: Arterial Bus Rapid Transit Corridors
A single center bus lane with stoplight and intersection priority to transition to the curb side would be a very good usage of space, (allowing both direction ROW busses to take turns) yet I doubt that would work long term.. I don’t think we should build bike lanes on Lake St. seems redundant since ...

Re: Target Center Renovation
Dumb question... if Arenas or stadiums only are so temporary why can’t we build them more “disposable” like ikea? ... build them out of metal and glass and keep concrete pouring lower (ie limited to footings) to keep costs down. That way the glass and metal can be recycled without crazy demolition l...

Re: Downtown Hotel News
Hennepin County bought the luMinn Hotel on 4th Street at about the same time as the University Inn. Looks like that was an all-suite hotel, so easier to convert/use as micro-apartments. Theoretically, the coming SRO legalization should make it easier to convert hotels into residential, though the c...
