Re: MN State Senate and House Elections 2016

Phyllis Kahn is out of touch and past her effective date. She is arrogant and emotionless. Two years ago when violence broke out at the DFL caucus for this district she claimed "I participated in the process when it was much more unfriendly to women than that,” Kahn said, describing a time she ...

Re: Shady Oak Station Area

That parking ramp in the northwest corner of the zone on the corner of Excelsior and Shady Oak is a poor choice. There is probably a better choice for that ramp. It would probably be better for that area to be a green open expanse that allows people to seamlessly move from the periphery of Hopkins t...

Re: North Loop Neighborhood

Basically an arms race now between CPM, Schafer-Richardson, and United to bring their various 10-story speculative office developments to fruition. Who breaks ground first? Is there any reason all three of these wouldn't be built? I'm not entirely sure, but isn't the North Loop submarket for office...

I hope they consider more of these in other places as well. The Mall of America, somewhere along a downtown Minneapolis station, any number of stations along the Green Line to name a few.

Re: Public Transit News and Current Happenings

Metro Transit is building a bike storage facility at 38th St. Station. It will provide secure storage for 53 bikes. Cool!
This is huge. It would be really nice if they upped the ante and went for more. I could see this being used 100% at the time it opens.

Re: Target Center Renovation

Isn't Quartz more expensive and better than "real stone"? Yes, quartz is more expensive. Better? It depends on personal preferences really. There are pros and cons of both natural granite and quartz. To simply ask which one is better is really a personal preference. Quartz will almost alw...

Re: Target Center Renovation

Does Cambria have an association with the Timberwolves. Maybe they will be using some quarts panels that Cambria will make for them. Use that as a test for a new exterior product line to expand their bottom line.

I was making a joke.

Re: Dinkytown Rentals - 725 8th St SE

This building is almost done, at least on the outside. It looks like it is named "Endurance". They have some sort of religious scripture on the front. Is this a thing? I know I have seen a little on other newer buildings in Dinkytown, but not to this extent. It's not even well done - the ...

Re: Minnesota Representation at the Federal Level

Let us not forget that Collin Peterson is the Ranking Member and former Chairman of the House Committee on Agriculture. That has in the past provided Minnesota with tons of Agriculture subsidies. The sugar beet, corn/ethanol, and flood abatement industries can thank Collin Peterson for their federal...

Re: Street, Road and Highway Projects

Our shitty bike infrastructure, which apparently has more lanes of "significant" bike lanes per mile than anywhere else in the country. Are you trying to say that we shouldn't complain about our biking infrastructure because everyone else has it worse? If we compare our biking infrastruct...

Re: MSP Airport

So I was at the airport departing thursday and then arriving today. What are they doing with the areas that were previously check points? Now they are giant blank areas in the check-in area. Everything is just seeming a bit rundown, half done in this area of the airport. They will remodel the side ...

Re: MSP Airport

Thanks guys. I'll be doing my best to push the group earlier. But in a perfect world, should I really need to show up 3 hrs early for a 4 hr flight? Doubling the travel time? That's crazy!
2 hours should be fine. Just prepare for slow going.

It's a good thing we have a modern system that people understand for picking presidential candidates.
It's a complete disgrace. Just scrap this archaic system and have a primary.

Re: MSP Airport

Does this affect checkpoint #10?
This has extremely limited hours of operation now... like 2 hours/day.
No. It is open Monday to Friday 0530-1300. Lines are short.

What's this new security checkpoint change that MPR is saying basically destroyed everything? I'm flying back in a couple weeks and need to know what to steel myself for. It's spring break. That is causing long lines. A new security checkpoint just opened after a year long process of consolidating ...

Maybe that could be change if our skyway advisory committee wasn't nearly 100% vacant (17 open seats)
Hold on. Why does the skyway advisory committee have anywhere near 17 total seats? That's way too many. Am I missing something or could they get by with 7?
