Re: Riverview Corridor (Alternatives Analysis)

My two cents: (repeated from a while back) SPUD out of DTSTP using the abandoned FORD spur. I think the more pedestrians the better in the SPUD concourses. That's what it was designed for and that's what it should be used for. I have nothing against yoga classes or tango lessons... But with each pas...

Re: Bicycle Infrastructure

Last night I was taking that clandestine link between the east end of the Stone Arch Bridge and the Dinkytown Greenway.
I see that some of the old railroad tracks have started to be pulled up. Are they planning to fill in this missing link?

Re: Pioneer Press Builing - 345 Cedar Street

There is definitely a vacuum of activity between the Lowertown area and the Rice Park area which this should project will help fill. My guess is that residents will be able to purchase parking at the Victory Ramp, which is connected to the building by skyway, no? A bit off topic, but by my count the...

Re: Possible demolition of West Publishing / old jail

My only hope is that the powers that be are thinking about the transit opportunity that exists here. I hope that they at least consider having a vertical connection to a possible Riverview Corridor (leaving SPUD along the Ford Spur) at Wabasha or St Peter . It would be the stop across the street at ...

Re: 2700 University Ave

How strange. Maybe down the road the the "storefront" space will be re-purposed into actual stores. Not counting the prospect park neighborhood, there will be approx 700 units of newer housing in the area (808 Berry, Emerald Gardens, Metro Lofts, and 2700 University) and the only thing bes...

Re: 250 E. 7th Street

That entire stretch of 7th has been a dead zone for as long as I can remember with the exception of Buttered Tin and Coco Bear. It's amazing that some of those buildings (O'Connor)have survived this long and didn't meet the wrecking ball. What I find surprising about the Buttered Tin building is tha...

Re: 250 E. 7th Street

Today I was just riding my bike by here and I spoke to the owner of the new restaurant / beer hall being constructed. It's called "dark horse", it should be open by August. They also plan on making a nice patio between the 250 building and the building just to the east of it.

Re: Chittenden and Eastman Lofts & Flats - 2400-10 Universit

I agree (that it leaves you wanting more). Especially after reading the PDF which mentions numerous times the importance of maintaining the "rhythm" of the street with similar dimensions for the buildings. Why the setback when they could just fill in the blank space between the C & E l...

I too have noticed the train getting hung up at intersections that it almost always used to get through without getting hung up.
Raymond, Malcolm, Bedford, and Berry specifically.

This strikes me as odd. To demo a roof to then put up 5 stories above it? How much more. would it cost at hat point to just start from scratch?

Re: Southwest LRT (Green Line Extension)

I don't spend that much time on this thread, but there seems to be a lot of discussion as to how to salvage this and put humpty dumpty back together again.... whether is is a removing a station here or less amenities there....Am I the only one here who is actually happy that this may not be built? Re: Riverview Corridor (Alternatives Analysis)

Last Sunday I hiked the length of the abandoned RR tracks (Ford Spur) from Eagle St and Shepard Road to the Ford Site. I encourage everyone who is involved or interested in the decision making process to pack a lunch in a backpack and do the same. Or don't pack any food, just walk 2 blocks to W 7th ...
