Re: Hi-Lake - Minnehaha Mall (Target, Cub, etc.) - Downtown Longfellow
Nvm screw the dump I'm just going to link this stuff cause it's easier than pasting it here with formatting. First off, here are my notes from meeting including what was presented as well as the following Q&A session: https://docs.google.com/document/d/14mjZ6_bqchmlYK1mlk88taPilp3dxtpjn5BAXJNOF7...

Re: Hi-Lake - Minnehaha Mall (Target, Cub, etc.) - Downtown Longfellow
Well I for one would be glad to have the Aldi's only a block or two from my house. I love going to Aldi's for the prices but man oh man the parking over at the one across from the YWCA is atrocious all the time. 5-6 blocks is too far to walk/bike? It isn't, I'm fine biking over there now. But it is...

That would be nice, I prefer Qdoba usually since their guac isn't extra and they also have queso.A Chipolte would be welcomed.

Re: Hi-Lake - Minnehaha Mall (Target, Cub, etc.) - Downtown Longfellow
I'm curious to see if those apartments in the new structure will end up having retail space on the first floor or if they will just be the apartments top to bottom. For example, if they set it up like some of the apartments over by the UofM where the first floor has a bunch of restaurants and whatno...

Anything is better than a shitty tobacco shop and a metro pcs store.I doubt it will be a grocery story given that you already have Target, Aldis, Cub and Longfellow Market nearby. I hope something wonderful moves in however!

Re: Hi-Lake - Minnehaha Mall (Target, Cub, etc.) - Downtown Longfellow
Ahh I see, so the charter school is mainly on the half where hop wong and the phone store used to be but the other half of the Rainbow and the old cost cutters/smoke shop are still open. Well I for one would be glad to have the Aldi's only a block or two from my house. I love going to Aldi's for the...

Re: Cedar/Minnehaha/Franklin Intersection
The intent was for left turns from Minnehaha to take 22nd Street to Cedar. We'll see how it plays out... Yeah that seems like a wholly unecessary diversion for what was once a straight shot if I wanted to head north into Cedar Riverside. Now to go North or West I have to go left through 22nd, and u...

Re: Hi-Lake and Minnehaha Mall Area (Target, Cub, etc.)
The "A food market" sign on the rendering looks conspicuously like Aldi. I'm gonna speculate that Aldi would like to relocate here since they cannot expand in their current mixed-use digs on the west side of Hiawatha. Both properties are owned by Wellington, so that would certainly simpli...

Re: Hi-Lake and Minnehaha Mall Area (Target, Cub, etc.)
There is a community meeting tonight inside the new charter school in the Rainbow building at 6pm. Regarding plans for that parking lot area in front of the old Rainbow and Schooner. Here are the developer visualizations: https://www.dropbox.com/s/toxkf2dt3hwbgfv/Scanned%20plans.pdf?dl=0 Looks prett...

Cedar/Minnehaha/Franklin Intersection
Does anyone happen to have any info on what the end result of all this construction at Cedar/Minnehaha/Franklin is supposed to be? That intersection was pretty atrocious before, but now with Minnehaha completely blocked off it seems even worse. You can't even veer right to go up 20th Ave next to tha...

Re: Hi-Lake and Minnehaha Mall Area (Target, Cub, etc.)
Lol you beat me to it Minneboom. Just took a pic there tonight and found it was already here :D Sure it doesn't look as crazy amazing as it could, but it looks way better than it does right now. I just hope the inside gets a touch up as much as the outside. It definitely could use it. I'm looking fo...

Re: Hi-Lake and Minnehaha Mall Area (Target, Cub, etc.)
The rendering for the redesigned Cub foods at Hi-lake looks great, I can't seem to find it anywhere online but I'll try to get a picture of the posting they have for it next time I"m there. I hope they redo the inside like the outside, goodness knows it needs it.

Re: Hi-Lake and Minnehaha Mall Area (Target, Cub, etc.)
It looks like the Cub Foods here at Minnehaha/Lake is getting some sort of remodel or makeover. Fences up around a bunch of the exterior, some of the interior shelves are moved away from the walls. Doesn't seem to be any postings about what the outcome will be, does anyone know if there is any info ...

Re: Washington Avenue (reconstruction, restriping, etc.)
Does anyone know when the raised bike lanes on Washington are supposed to be open? The street itself is all completed for the most part that I've seen but they've still got bike lane closed signs blocking the new raised lanes that look pretty done to me. What are they waiting on?

Re: Minneapolis Mayoral Election 2017
Maybe we can just, like, not do it in 2021. I feel like all the cumbersome bs that causes these things to take so long disenfranchises people and I hope this is addressed. I recognize that I am privileged and can just drop everything to sit here for 16 hours but not everyone has that freedom and th...

Welp, all these hours later and no endorsement for mayor. Nobody got enough. Parks district 3 was the same with Hassan/Gurhan who were basically 50/50 and never got over the threshold

Re: Minneapolis Mayoral Election 2017
This convention would go by so much faster it people would learn to shut up for once and listen to the people on stand/at the mics. :/ That and if the convention chairs would stick to their guns on timekeeping, don't say "10 minutes till we freeze the floor" and then 10 minutes later get u...

Re: Ford Twin Cities Assembly Plant Redevelopment
"this is the neighborhood that elects mayors" Well I didn't have a strong feeling one way or another about the St. Paul mayoral race, but I certainly want Ward 1 to come out in droves to turn the tide to Thao now. What a repulsive sentiment. Right? I wish I lived in St. Paul just so I cou...

Re: Homeless tent city along the Hiawatha Bike Trail?
Looks like the state troopers were clearing out the Hiawatha trail camp this morning. As I was biking by there were three state trooper cars parked there and everyone was taking down their tents/lean-to's and whatnot. Not sure if something happened, or if there were just a bunch of complaints or what.
