Re: Oaks Station Place
I don't care what others think - I like the design. Something a bit different from the "modern" square blocks popping up all over. Fits the more "historic" feel of the Minnehaha neighborhood as well. May not be the highest quality materials, but still like.

Re: The Interchange (At Target Field)
Nice new renderings. I just don't see how they plan to make the plaza a draw for a gathering place other than on Twins game days. Seems odd to me - better places to focus on are Peavey Plaza and the new parks that hopefully get built in other areas of downtown. Does anyone know of any transportation...

Re: Hennepin Avenue
As always - I am supportive of any improvements to the streetscape and urban environment, but sometimes I think Minneapolis city leaders have way too many ideas going on and with no direction. Wish they would stick to one idea and follow through. Look at all the different names we're getting for the...

Re: North Loop Neighborhood
Really hoped that this project would've happened. I believe City Council didn't approve it because of zoning/height, etc. requirements. Believe it would've included a hotel. This it?

Re: Izzy's Ice Cream Factory
I don't know. Still not in love with it. Doesn't seem to interact with the park or surrounding area well. Look at the size of those windows, etc. Hopefully I'll like the finished product.

Re: North Loop Neighborhood
Could we all pool our money and buy this building and remodel it? Love this building. Wonder if there have ever been any offers to buy it and the surrounding lot for redevelopment. At least it's still standing - thinking it will be renovated some day. This building and the one The Foundry is locate...

Re: Westminster Church
Off topic, can you believe that buildings like the townhouse on the left were once found in Minneapolis: http://collections.mnhs.org/cms/web5/media.php?irn=10210593&width=640
So cool. Looks like many of the buildings in Chicago or the east coast. Shame they were torn down. Off topic as ...

Very cool. The only thing is - do you think it would be too much of a competitor with the Midtown Global Market?

Thanks for the update! I would love to get my hands on some of the items from that office though. Hopefully they weren't just tossed!

Re: Downtown Post Office
I think it's a shame they filled in the park that used to be right in front of it: http://www.lileks.com/mpls/post/postpark.jpg I very much dislike the 60/70's development in that area.. The ramp, and the three apartment buildings are a complete misuse of that area. The "City Beautiful" p...

Re: Downtown Post Office
The 1st Ave towers will have 'eyes' on the park at all times, as well as the towers across the river will have good sight lines. I think people often forget about the 1st Ave. towers and the other apartments near the post office that went up in the 70's and 80's. Per...

Re: Loring Vue Apartments - (415 Oak Grove Street)
Wow -- that's looking sexy! Does that greyish/silver surface material shimmer? I can't quite tell from the pics, because the windows are shimmering so brightly. If so, this thing is looking a lot cooler than what I was expecting it to be! Very! Funny how the developments that seem to get the most o...

Re: Northstar
I still have hope for the line. When I was back in town, I took the Hiawatha from the airport to downtown, then transferred to the Northstar that brought me up to Elk River. I was a bit discouraged, though, that for the return trip on the Northstar on a Thursday, the last train departed the Elk Rive...
