Re: 2316-2320 Colfax Apartments
Not to mention all of N Minneapolis. If it was economically feasible (albeit on a home purchased for $1) for Nicole Curtis to raise a house up and build an entirely new foundation, then completely rehab it, wouldn't moving the thing be a marginal increase in cost? I saw some of those episodes! Awes...

Re: Downtown Retail News
You guys will love this news... Someone is reopening the small convenience store on the corner of 5th Ave N and 2nd St N.
It has been closed for quite a while. They are working inside to do some updates and there is a sign that says "Opening in April."

Re: General Suburb News
I can't think of another place to put this and I didn't find a dedicated thread. I am sure it was talked about WAY back in the Vikings Stadium thread. Ramsey County has purchased the Arden Hills ammo site. http://www.bringmethenews.com/2013/04/17/ramsey-county-completes-sale-of-arden-hills-ammo-site...

Re: Granary Corridor
There is a major flaw in the plan. It does not connect to Main St under the bridge.
Here is the 2013 construction site. http://www.ci.minneapolis.mn.us/cip/all ... rail_index
This area needs to be connected! Why keep the disconnect? Who do we contact to get it adjusted?

Re: Shapco Printing Site - (524 Fifth Street North)
There is a TON of confusion on here. READ PEOPLE!
The Hines project is 350 N 5th St. (viewtopic.php?f=13&t=61)
This is a different project. It is replacing Shapco at 524 N 5th St.
I think we'll see both built eventually.

Re: Surly Brewery Site
I must have used an incorrect address a few months back because I thought this was only going to be 1/2 block from University. It doesn't look like much of a "destination" to have a big investment. I wonder if the surrounding area will change a little. I still would have LOVED to see this ...

Re: Sunday Liquor Sales and other Beer/Liquor Legislation
Bread & Pickle are fighting with Minneapolis over the area that they would be able to serve beer and wine. http://blogs.citypages.com/food/2013/04/bread_and_pickles_battle_for_beer.php To me it looks like the city wants to limit them to a VERY small area that doesn't even reach their seating are...

Re: The Flats at West End - St. Louis Park
Any thoughts on why they chose to paint vs using black material? This still seems dumb to me.
Here is a picture from today. You can see the painting progress as they work around the building.
I do like the curved corner crown.

They are shutting down Nice Ride during the snowstorm. I can't remember this happening before. Has it?

This seems to imply that new stadiums drive at least some development. What the hell happened to DTE?!?! C'mon Minneapolis. Get it right with the new Vikings Stadium.

Re: The Great River Passage Plan
Edgcumbe turns into an entrance ramp onto Hwy 5. I think with all of the on/off ramps there it is unlikely. Note that just west of Hwy 5 there is a connection with Prior Ave. I think technically it is Mississippi River Blvd at that point, but it is the same road. If you mean connecting Edgcumbe to H...

Re: The Great River Passage Plan
Apart from the nursery there's really nothing in the way. Elway doesn't have to be as wide as it is now. Yes, if you use Lexington to Albion as the connection. I was referring to drawing a straight line from Lexington south of Otto Ave. That is where a neighborhood gets in the way. I think it would...

Re: The Great River Passage Plan
Oh yeah, now I see how you can draw a straight line from Lexington south to Elway. The problem again is that there is a whole neighborhood "in the way" of that connection. I am very interested in using the old Ford plant rail as LRT or street car. I am fairly certain that it's only functio...

Re: The Great River Passage Plan
My fiance's parents live down near St Paul Ave so I am down there all the time. While driving on W 7th from 35E to Hwy 5, it is impossible to know that a better road is only 3 blocks away. I am confused where you say the extension from Lexington to Shepard looks half done... How do you see it? Are y...

Twin Cities metro counties
It appears that the "Metro" just added 3 counties bringing the total to 16. Le Sueur, Sibley and Mille Lacs are the new metro counties. http://www.bringmethenews.com/2013/04/09/twin-cities-metro-area-expands-3-counties-added/ This seems to be getting out of hand. I thought there were only ...

They have started painting some of the panels black. They started last week and are continuing this week. I don't understand why they wouldn't just have black material. I'll try to grab a picture tomorrow.

Re: Green Line (Central)
There are still crosswalks, and even mid block crosswalks, all along University. I am confused if you are trying to say that this will divide the city or not?
