Re: C Line - Penn Avenue North Arterial Rapid Bus
I suspect these events are far more for the people throwing the sand than the people having sand thrown at them.

I love how we cart in a pile of sand to a parking lot for these groundbreaking ceremonies.

They say their current office space is underutilized because they don't have enough parking, so this new parking will enable them to fill their existing space.

Re: Autonomous vehicles impact on real estate
Yeah doing a find/replace driver with driverless in our current system would not be great, but I think collectively there's a bit more imagination behind the problem than that.

Labor is the highest cost for providing transit service, I think there's a lot of opportunity for driver-less bus services.

A lot of the Midtown Greenway is also R1/R1A which is kinda weird. Look at that thin line that goes East-West across the city in Eost's maps, that's the Greenway.

Is there anything that would prevent the park board from selling off a park for redevelopment? Obviously it's not a thing I would expect to happen but is it not possible because of expectations or because of a legal prohibition of some kind?

I have a hard time believing that even you can be that obtuse. Come on. Really? My job is not to serve as an elected official. If council staff, against the wishes of the elected officials, released this, that would be a leak. There is no expectation of secrecy, nor should there be, for public offi...

Re: Smaller Scale Multi-Family Infill
So, if hypothetically the comp plan included (as part of a much larger document) a proposal that would, say, increase the minimum lot size for a duplex up to 15,000 sf, the correct thing for a CM who opposed that change would be to stay quiet until the whole plan was released? I mean, I get you all...

I believe states own the equipment, and it depends on the color. California has their own paint scheme, as does the Cascades. I think North Carolina has a slightly different paintjob on the locomotive. But not all state services have unique liveries.

The CPC did talk about not wanting to have the same street switch names, and when the Vikings tried to use Twins Way as a justification for their dumb renaming, one of the commissioners pointed out that it was different because Twins Way was a very short street that was created when the stadium seve...

The problem that dockless solves is that docks are really expensive so if you can instead spend that money on even more bikes, that's a win win!

Honestly it's the corner crosswalk that's the pain, not the extra sidewalk frontage. And yeah, very easy with a snowblower, even my little battery operated one.

They're not closing the greenway. It'll run at about 12 miles an hour, or about the average speed of a bike. You're free to follow it or let it follow you or pass it.
I think they want to test with some people around so closing off a street wouldn't do them any good.

I've heard that there are issues finding light manufacturing space in the city. For example there are a lot of industrial buildings along Minnehaha that have been turned into mosques, there's actually a bit of demand for smaller industrial space in the city now.
