Apartment Construction Boom (2011-??)
I'm surprised that nobody listed the "eclipse" I think that's the name. It was over in the vicinity of Hennepin and Washington. I believe it was supposed to be built back in 2007, but then the recession hit. If I am correct, it went before the planning commission in 2014. I believe it was ...

Re: Public Transit News and Current Happenings
We seem to have such a difficult time with transportation funding. How are the funding the conversion of wrote to the high frequency and the other transit improvements?

Re: Eagan, Apple Valley, Burnsville - General Topics
Was on the redline today. Rode it all the way from the mall of America to the end. They may be building density in this area, but the area mediately surrounding the station seems to be nothing but parking ramps, and surface lots. From my observations, they may be increasing the density, but they sur...

Transit ridership and technology.
If there is already a topic regarding this, feel free to merge and delete. I have been noticing how bus ridership numbers continue to decrease. It's not just happening in Minneapolis, but all over the country. Do you think that the use of smart phones, Google maps, Apple Maps, different transit apps...

Re: C Line - Arterial Rapid Bus & Penn Ave Community Works Project
Its too bad the C-line is delayed a year. Is that because of funding? Will the CTIB mess cause any additional delays?

C Line - Arterial Rapid Bus & Penn Ave Community Works Project
Last night when writing the A-line, I talked to one of the drivers, and he mentioned that the C-line would have articulated buses with three doorways. Is that true?

Southwest LRT (Green Line Extension)
Found this article. I am confused, I thought that in order to gain the final go-ahead from the Feds we needed to secure the 150 million from the state. http://finance-commerce.com/2016/07/southwest-lrt-wins-green-light-from-feds/ I'm fortunately the article was locked. Maybe one of you has more info...

Still surprised that we haven't seen anything on this. Unless they've started construction and I am not aware. From my understanding Trader Joe's is still anticipated to open in 2017, correct?

prospectPete - I have been thinking the same thing. I would love to see a dedicated bike lane both sides of Franklin Avenue, from Hennepin ave all the way over the river.

Re: Street, Road and Highway Projects
@Tom H, I love the suggestion of making that segment into a toll road. Maybe they could use some of the revenue to help finance other modes of transportation.

Re: Street, Road and Highway Projects
It's too bad they are expanding the roadway. In my opinion, it would've been much better if Wisconsin invested rail between Madison and Chicago. Obviously I'm not sure of the technical feasibility. Imagine a high-speed train traveling in the median of interstate 39/90. Imagine the development potent...
