Steel framing has begun for the bank portion of the development.

Re: Public Transit News and Current Happenings
I wonder how much the SuperBowl had on the increase in transit usage in 2018.

If you look at these files it states it's in the airport safety zone, so not much can be done here.

The billboard on this site has been removed, and it appears they have closed the parking lot.

Re: Wells Fargo Redevelopment - 801 Portland - 18 stories - 279'
Their plan seems to be a bit misleading. The ground floor starts at 100 ft, so I am thinking this will actually be just 179 feet tall.
Not sure why it is labeled like that.

Re: RE: Re: Twin Cities’ museums
Is the public planetarium too crowded since the opening? Has anyone been there? It's not too bad. I would recommend getting your tickets online ahead of time to make sure you get a time slot that works for you, otherwise you may need to wait a couple hours to get in, but that time can easily be kil...

I have noticed all 3 of their lots have been closed this week. The full block, the half block by their current building and the quarter block next to the Sexton building.

That's the first thing I noticed. I hope the city doesn't allow a variance to the sign ordinance.
Two other things I noticed was that RBC wants a sign at the top of the building facing downtown, I'm pretty sure there is an ordinance against that.

I wouldn't expect anything more than truck storage and maintenance for the former Rihm site.
Also I had heard rumors about other developers eyeing up the corner of Cleveland and University, not sure if AET purchase of Rihm put a stop to that.

The funny part is that the new helipad opened, and as soon as the crane went up on the new site, they used the old helipad almost exclusively.

Re: RE: Re: Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC) Clinic Expansion
Anyone know when HCMC built a new helipad on the main building near the red entrance, and stopped using the top of their big parking ramp across Park? It was a couple years ago, before construction started on their new building. They use the old helipad occasionally still. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL u...

Any chance they will be keeping the semi transparent video board on the glass above the main entrance after the Super Bowl? I think it looks pretty sharp.

My wife and I had a picnic at the Commons on Sunday, and there were several people there playing frisbee, waking their dogs, playing in the water feature, etc.
I don't worry about no one using the park.

Re: Green Line (Central Corridor LRT)
Looks like the city change the traffic light at 5th Ave S and 5th Street by the Armory. Now you are able to turn right onto 5th Ave from 5th Street and cross over the LRT tracks on green. This greatly reduces both the amount of time 5th Street has a green light and the time that the train has to pas...

The crane seems extremely tall for just a 6 story building, it appears to be about the same height as the Portland Tower crane.
I am wondering if they are going to be putting up a second crane that is shorter, and the height is so they don't conflict.

Re: Downtown Minneapolis General Topics & Development Map
I think if they produced a plan that retained the atrium as-is, most or all of the complaints here would evaporate. But since the existing Y has a pool and gym, and they presumably still want to have those, it's hard to see how they can fit those in without filling in the atrium space. Could fill i...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis General Topics & Development Map
I don't see why they couldn't move in and leave the atrium as is. It could make for a very unique space for the Y.
