Rumor has it that Taco Bell will be making a permanent restaurant on the first floor...Each will have large terraces and patios with room for pot gardens and al fresco dining.

Re: Minneapolis Park System
I think the greatest potential for any development of Hiawatha Golf Course would be converting it into some sort of more accessible park than the status quo. The area has quite a lot of potential, being located up against Lake Hiawatha and having Minnehaha Creek and Lake Nokomis across the street. R...

Re: Como-Harriet Streetcar Line
To be a bit crude, I just about shit a kitten when I saw that the Randolph-Hazel Park-Mahtomedi line used to run directly behind my house And about 100 feet from my childhood bedroom in Mahtomedi, with another line about a block from my house in south Minneapolis (along 42nd st)! That's really cool!

It looks like there's going to be some sort of exterior deck on the fourth or fifth floor that faces 6th street and target field...anyone else seeing that? If so, that would be pretty neat looking from target center and from target field...

Re: Google Maps
Check out above the greenway from Emerson Ave, 2007 versus 2013. Pretty ridiculous how it goes from overgrown empty lots to rows of apartment buildings completed or under construction... Imagine what that'll look like in 2-3 years when everything that is under construction will be completed. https:/...

Re: Climate Change
But we've seen no warming globally since 1997. Let me repeat…no warming since 1997. Look it up, its in all the papers. The atmosphere, which takes up only 2% of the heat from increased greenhouse gases, is still warming...but at a slightly slower pace than during the 1980s and 1990s. A very large m...

Re: Stadium Parking Ramp Air Rights Development
There is A LOT of debate about the validity of anthropenic global warming, and the models proposed by the AGW crowd (the "alarmists") don't fit with empiric data. I think it's worth clarifying that the models that are used to make projections do a really good job simulating changes in glo...

The debate has basically been long settled within the scientific community and only persists within parts of the public (and congress). The basic nature of scientific research and the peer review process give much acclaim to anyone who can conclusively disprove popular or longstanding hypotheses. Ho...

Re: Southwest Corridor (Green Line Extension)
Nice satire on the SWLRT in the Strib: http://www.startribune.com/local/250475861.html The current mood in Minneapolis seems to be this: Everything should stay the way it is but also things should somehow magically get better. More people? Great! But build that apartment building elsewhere. More tra...

Re: Does Minneapolis have too many stoplights?
All anyone needs to do is drive down E 38th St from Hiawatha to Lyndale. It's maddening. Arterials and collector road lights should all be actuated. I think someone on here mentioned the timing of lights in California and why I don't think we should aspire to be like them in land use, they have tra...

The Eclipse will look a lot lighter when you have sunlight reflecting off the glass. If it's all glass it's gotta be more reflective than the renderings portray.

Re: MPLS 500K
Does anyone have a map with the historical borders of Minneapolis and how they've changed from annexation? I wonder if it's possible to annex any of the suburbs, Minneapolis has a tiny footprint compared to most major U.S. cities and it would be nice for that to grow a little. We don't need to be Om...
