Have to say I love Gold Medal Park and Target Plaza though, both by Oslund. But yes, I agree with others. I'd like the plaza renovated/updated, but keep the fountains.

The park is still in the planning stages, but it's going to happen. City leaders and business execs are really pushing for a "central park" downtown, as well as redoing Nicollet Mall.

I don't believe this includes the portion of the block to be redeveloped w/ the design by Dayton. Personally - I think it's great that so many older buildings downtown are being rehabbed for reuse (old Shinder's on Hennepin, etc.). Personally - I've liked Village Green's buildings. I most agree a mix of towers and low-rise residential/townhomes is what's going to work and what the city / neighborhood''s plans call for.

I'd like to see more townhomes or better yet rowhouses/brownstones that are set back from the sidewalks giving opportunities for small yards/gardens.
