Re: Rumors!
One can only hope! I have great faith in Minneapolis and the region, but mostly, I want something to surpass the IDS in height. Let us break through 800ft!

Re: University of Minnesota
If they were trying to say the campus is ugly, then why use such a beautiful picture? A picture of the West Bank in the winter would have been much better.
Also, was the U a commuter campus? I've never heard that before.

Re: MSP Rankings
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_U. ... eas_by_GDPI believe it has surpassed Detroit as an economic power, though.
As of 2010:
MSP GDP: ~$200b - 13th
Detroit GDP: ~198b - 14th
I believe the MSA is 15th or 16th in terms of population, so we're punching above our weight again.

Re: MSP Airport
I flew Delta CDG-ATL out of that terminal. Was a heckuva journey: Dubai-Paris-Atlanta.

Re: MSP Airport
That terminal at CDG, I forget which one, is beautiful. Much better than the scary brutalist architecture that plagues other parts of the airport, especially around subway station. They had super-comfy chairs and video games, I recall.

I walked by this the other day and the hole in the ground is gigantic. Curious how this ends up.

For the sake of more off-topic-ness, I'd like to say, Rammstein rules.

Re: Star Tribune Blocks
Here in Atlanta there is a quasi-urban development in Midtown that first had the land excavated, then was built into a 3 or 4 level underground garage, with footings and foundations in place for future buildings. The entire complex rests above this garage. It is hardly noticeable. It works great, as...

Re: Vikings Stadium
I don't know what to think about it yet.
It also has quite an interesting little row of seating directly above the glass doors.

Re: Star Tribune Blocks
I can't see putting 460 apts and well over 1 million sq ft office space in 2-26 story buildings either. It sounds more like this should be the 2 26 story towers along with a 500 foot apt. tower. Or am I reading this all wrong. And is not the new stadium rumored to be 300+ feet tall? I hope these to...
