Re: Toro Headquarters Expansion - Bloomington
There is a possible phase 2 a few years after this is built, if the market stays strong and the company keeps growing. They do own all of the properties between the north side of the current building and American Blvd, I believe.

Re: Southwest Corridor (Green Line Extension)
What are you referring to here? The only number I saw corrected was along the Spanish immersion school in the relocation scenario. They surveyed the corridor and found it to be a bit narrower than expected. This is a normal part of the engineering work. I was referring to the pinchpoint at Cedar La...

Re: Southwest Corridor (Green Line Extension)
It would take a huge miscalculation to suddenly make 3C the less expensive option. You mean like if there was a typo that underestimated the cost of co-location by $100 million? That certainly has been an issue all along with this relocation. The Met Council has changed financials and requirements ...

Re: Highway 7 / Louisiana Interchange Project (St. Louis Par
I see on the St. Louis Park Patch that they broke ground on this today. Last night I saw them taking down a billboard in the area and there seemed to be a lot of preliminary work near Sam's Club a couple of weeks ago. I am more excited about the changes to W Lake St and Walker.

Re: Southwest Corridor (Green Line Extension)
[Is fox right that up to ten times the trains will run on this route? That seems to be around 20 (longer) trains a day. However with words like UP TO that really means like between 2-20 trains a day. What do you think that odds of 20 trains a day are going to happen everyday? I place my bet on betw...

Re: Southwest Corridor (Green Line Extension)
I understand that along with having to relocate the brand new field and updated football seating, the gentler alignment would take out 10-15 houses and run through a portion of the parking lot at Park Spanish Immersion, along with moving several businesses including McDonald's. With all of that, I s...

Re: Vikings Stadium
Outdoor baseball? They've hosted numerous AS games in indoor facilities, or in retractable roof facilities with the roof shut. How is the Vikings stadium hypothetically any different? While they will be able to host college baseball and many high shool games, this is not a major league baseball sta...

Re: Vikings Stadium
Underwhelmed. Looks like a large, angular greenhouse. BTW, it will have the largest moving windows only because the owner is too cheap to fund a retractable roof. Now both features would have wowed me.

[quote="Jfuss"]Courtesy of mprnews.org “What we’re going to see tonight is a vision with local architecture, our Vikings tradition, our sort of Scandinavian heritage here,” Bagley said. “All those things you’re going to see laid out tonight and ultimately worked through the design that we’...

Re: Southwest Corridor (Green Line Extension)
If you attend one of these, be prepared to give input. They are really trying to get public opinion for how each of the stations will be used by the people who will be using them.

Re: Southwest Corridor (Green Line Extension)
Whew. Panic assuaged. Ubermoose, for future reference, a spur connects with a main track only at one end. $$$. Sorry, just using the terminology that was used last night to show the possible changes. I wish I had a copy of the layout that was used. I can't seem to find a reference to it on their si...

Re: Southwest Corridor (Green Line Extension)
I'm sorry if I was unclear. The spur is off of the freight line that is present right now. It would not be anything more than a curve in the line of the light rail.

Re: Southwest Corridor (Green Line Extension)
It was a good open house last night even though the turn out was low due to the weather. I found out something that I hadn't heard about the Louisiana station. There is an alternative route being considered which would bring the line south about 1 1/2 blocks on a spur and would be a lot closer to Me...

Re: Southwest Corridor (Green Line Extension)
At 7:30 tonight there's an open house for the stations proposed in St. Louis park. It's taking place at the SLP Rec Center. There will also be open houses for the other stations along the route in their cities. Minnetonka/Hopkins next Tuesday 4/23 at the Center for the Arts, Minneapolis May 2 at Bry...

Sunday Liquor Sales and other Beer/Liquor Legislation
Sunday sales is a subject that is very important to friends of mine. I am embarassed by this antiquated law. It is not an exaggeration to say that every weekend that I work downtown I have to explain to a visitor that they can't buy alcohol on Sunday's in Minnesota. The House Commerce Committee is g...

Re: Vikings Stadium
Listening to KFAN yesterday and Pat Kessler says we are still 2-3 weeks away from an official rendering of the stadium. He says they are still trying to figure out the moveable wall/window, retractable roof options.

Re: Surly Brewery Site
If Surly pulled the weight on the taproom law to the benefit of smaller breweries/competitors, it's time for the Indeeds and Fultons to return the favor on the "growler law". Current law prohibits breweries over a certain volume from selling growlers...how messed up is that? I read that t...
