Re: Nicollet Hotel Block

When I first looked at the name I read it as: The Development Attacker, and thought it was another MRRDC-type site.

Is this the site Illogicaljake was creating?

Re: The Police

Strictly speaking, "No person, in any public or private place, shall lurk, lie in wait or be concealed with intent to commit any crime or unlawful act."

Re: New Hotel - Park Point, Duluth

It's the island culture; if they could they would secede from the city. A principal concern for locals is that they believe it would put a strain on the environment and infrastructure.

Personally, I think it would be a vast improvement over the suburban-style hotels on Canal Park.

Re: Rumors: A Historical Record of Mystery

Perhaps Rick's mother willed him some land adjacent to the Rochester airport.
That would be an interesting line of investigation

Re: Rumors: A Historical Record of Mystery

This is all still so weird and full of speculation. Milwaukee now?!? Could that be where his lover(s) live(s)? I for one won't be satisfied until we get a full disclosure from Rick, all of his distinct personas, and anyone else involved, et al.

When do they hold church services in Wells?

Re: Ryan Nelson Today:

I'm laughing at people's reaction to this retail resurgence downtown, these are the same people who doubted it would ever happen. We've been working on it for years, the doubters haven't seen anything yet! And many of you know what I'm talking about. We'll see who'll be laughing a few more years fr...

If it is just RC, maybe he just wants to show his peeps in Wells and other places in Southern Minnesota that he's thick in the Minneapolis development world. Idk

Re: 36th and Bryant Area

If I remember right the guy who owns that barbershop is the son of the fellow who owns the hardware store, which has been around for 60-odd years. A real neighborhood institution. There's a bunch of senior housing around there too so I just figured he had an established clientele that allowed him to...

Re: Downtown East Project (Ryan Companies / Wells Fargo)

The Public Safety Facility won't be moved for years, if ever, because it holds defendants who have court in Government Center. (There is also a jail and police in City Hall.) Of the court buildings downtown, I can only imagine the Family Justice Center being moved someday, especially if the Ritz Blo...

Re: Rumors: A Historical Record of Mystery

Also, "white-bread, supposedly straight, devoutly Christian man in their 50s (or older)" sometimes have private lives that aren't so much the former. Double lives from being wound too tight. Cacorro sometimes in Spanish. Down low brother if you will. In other words, the use of "boi&qu...

Re: Embarrassing Confessions of Urbanists

Seriously though, I do like the HCGC complex on the whole. The building on the inside has a ton of light, which is important considering the depressing things that transpire in court. I just wish the stairwells had windows in them too. I also like the park and plaza. If anything, I wish the fountain...

Re: Rumors: A Historical Record of Mystery

I agree with VV. Up to now we have only focused on the term "hoax" but this person/people seem quite serious in the midst of all this. (Of course mental illness also can keep people quite focused in their pursuits too.) It's also hard to keep outright speculation separate from fact or reas...
