Re: Stadium Parking Ramp Air Rights Development

Should this be put back out to bid or?
I was going to ask that too.

It would be nice to see a developer from out of town bring something to the table.

Re: Stadium Parking Ramp Air Rights Development

Wow. Isn't it a bit odd that they (Ryan) couldn't land a chain for this project?

Re: Current & Proposed Downtown Minneapolis Projects

Can we keep this discussion in the proper thread?

Actually, the Minneapolis / St. Paul Development News subforum has been a better read than this site for quite sometime now.

Re: Minneapolis - St. Paul Business News

So does this count as us losing another Fortune 500 company? Yep. If the US government doesn't reduce corporate taxes and simplify the tax code, we are going to see more and more U.S. companies move their headquarters overseas. Medtronic has been the largest company to relocate overseas and their m...

Re: Minneapolis - St. Paul Business News

Looks like the Twin Cities might be losing another Fortune 500 company. Medtronic is looking to acquire London-based Smith & Nephew. If it does, the company will move its headquarters to London.

Re: TCF Tower

Denver has a looooooong way to go surpass Minneapolis' skyline. I just spent the Memorial weekend there and stayed downtown. There really isn't building of note, it really a large grouping of bland Multi Foods type towers. Nothing there approaches the "big 3" in Minneapolis. Second the co...

Re: Twin Cities' National and Global Image

It's not just the NY Times. The media in Jacksonville gave us props too. Great read and the comments were surprisingly positive. If only all the local naysayers (residents and business leaders) would take note and start realize what a great city this truly is. Downtown Revitalization: Minneapolis Me...

Re: Minneapolis Armory

I can't imagine how the folks in charge of Rhymesayers are cool with that... Perhaps a few of them live in the Shakopee area and worked out a deal with Canterbury Park. Don't most of the recent Minneapolis and St. Paul hip-hop artists come from the burbs? Whatever the case, having a hip-hop show in...

Does that include Caspian Bistro too? I saw a women doing something ominous in a window yesterday but she might have just been cleaning.
I would be okay with it as the Caspian is one of the most overrated restaurants in the Twin Cities.

Re: Portland Tower

This is entirely your speculation, with no actual evidence to support that claim. Site work for 4Marq was suppose to begin in December 2013. Last time I checked there wasn't any activity. Furthermore, downtown apartment vacancy rates have doubled since last year. How much more evidence do you need?...

Seeing that 4Marq can't get off the ground, I doubt there is enough demand for this one. It would be nice though.

When I close my accounts there this month, and they ask why, I'm saying it's because they're abandoning downtown for the suburbs.
Haha. I've been thinking about closing my TCF account and after reading today's news, I will be closing mine tomorrow.

Apparently Kelly Doran informed the members of the Dinkytown Business Association that being it doesn't collect membership dues or elect officers, it doesn't exist. He stated, “You don’t legally have a board or a right to vote on this [plan]... The [DBA] doesn’t exist.” http://www.bizjournals.com/tw...

Re: Capella Tower & LaSalle Plaza

Why is it so hard for people to grasp that this building is 776 feet and IDS is 775 feet.
Because Minnesotans hate change. How dare a developer construct a tower taller than IDS without gaining approval from the public first.
