Re: Motiv Apartments - 2320 Colfax Avenue S
Wow. I live 2 blocks from this and my 1 br looks much larger with a a large patio and I pay almost half the rent. Yes, it is a 1915 building so no dishwasher and things like that but I do have a claw foot tub, beautiful woodwork and walls so thick I never hear my neighbors.

Re: LHENA Elections
I feel there is a time and place for snark and I don't think the neighborhood meetings are the appropriate place. This person was elected and I feel is doing a disservice to those that voted for him by reinforcing the divide between 'urbanists' and 'nimbys'.

Re: Uptown General Topics & Development Map
Maybe it will look better once they add the balcony on the second floor? I looks like it will have one with the sliding glass door. Very awkward looking now!

Any one know what is going on with the Parisien (24th Lyndale)? Looks like they are redoing the out side. Strange as this is not even 10 years old.

Re: Public trash cans
There used to be more all around the city. Over the last 10 years they have been removed as the city no longer wanted to pay for trash pick up. You could find one at almost every bus stop.

Re: Minneapolis City Politics General Discussion
I have had landlords that give out the change of address packets that can be picked up at the post office that had voter registration cards in them. I thought they were nice to provide that along with the other forms you fill out at the time of signing a lease.

Re: East 38th Street Corridor & Standish-Ericsson
My neighborhood shopping has changes over the last 20 years in my neighborhood largely do to bodegas. There used to be little bodegas all over in the Uptown/Wedge area, and I would end up stopping in other shops on my way every few days I went to the store. Now I have to go to larger grocery stores,...

Re: Uptown Retail & Restaurant News
I was counting 1 and 2 as the same, I also don't consider the patio door as an entrance as they had a fence that is not pictured. Doors 5 and 6 were not public doors that you could walk up to and open. In my opinion, having a good street/sidewalk presence betters the urban environment more so than h...

Re: Uptown Retail & Restaurant News
Rye just had the Hennepin door and the parking lot door, not 6 doors. As a pedestrian I would rather see an entrance from the main sidewalk and not have to walk through the parking lot. And Burch is a bit confusing. I first went to the Hennepin side door but that was closed and then back around to C...

I have noticed that both Burch and Bradstreet have closed the Hennepin doors off. Burch's entrance is on Colfax and Bradstreet's is in the middle of the parking lot.

I have read quite a few news stories in other cities about the opposition of new developments and what I took away from the majority was the displacement of lower income residents.

I think we need affordable housing in all areas of the city. There is a major shortage in many neighborhoods.

Re: Arcata Apartments - Golden Valley
I hate any combo of closet/bath. Bathrooms tend to get dirty quickly and there is the humidity. I want my clean clothes actually clean. Plus on a personal note, I keep my cat box in the bathroom and I try to keep them out of my closet so there is less cat hair on my stuff.
