Re: Andrews Hotel site (4th & Hennepin)
If the Plymouth Building project goes through, along with Eclipse and 4Marq, we have quite a big new residential quarter opening up. I think that Lumber Exchange will also make a good residential building.
Exciting times downtown, indeed.

Re: Snelling BRT/enhanced bus
Additionally, 46th St. needs a strong local service to move neighborhood riders to Orange and Blue lines. Arterial BRT doesn't fit the market for the demand (local feeder) and would likely be underused. Ridership mismatch is certainly an issue. Service on Route 46 operates every 30 minutes, and is f...

Re: 610 Corridor - Brooklyn Park
Try walking from your house to the nearest grocery store and back with a few bags of groceries. Maybe in this current weather, where plowing the sidewalks is the last priority. Then come back to the forum and tell us about how walkable Hwy. 610 is.

Re: 610 Corridor - Brooklyn Park
Noble/610 has been in planning for a while, mainly because the existing lot has a high amount of usage relative to it's space. It is independent of the Bottineau light-rail plan, and that's why there is little coordination between the two projects. When Bottineau opens, I would imagine a lot of park...

Re: Green Line (Central Corridor LRT)
I think that the other idea is that the majority of the mobility-impaired people live on the eastern end of University. And it's expensive to run buses through Downtown Minneapolis, would likely require the addition of another bus to the line. I wonder if the 16 will actually be able to attract a de...

Re: Midtown Corridor
So, the TAC met on the 16th, and a slew of new documents have popped up on the Midtown Transitway website, including: - Lake Street Arterial BRT before 2020 targeted. - Talk of extending arterial BRT to Downtown St. Paul during peak hours. - No LPA recommendation by the TAC. Decision will be made on...

Re: Public Transit News and Happenings

Re: Southwest Corridor (Green Line Extension)
My honest belief is that the choice of the 3A routing over the 3C routing was cost. The 3A costs have increase dramatically. Now that we're paying 3C costs and getting 3A crap, I hope we can step back and reconsider. If 3A costs have escalated a lot, 3C costs likely would have increased as well. I ...
