Also looks like they are bracing the old foundation (which looks like an old foundation - maybe even the Times Building foundation..) Seems like the parking ramp made for a quick excavation.

Oh. My. God. Finally! It can't come soon enough. I know there are a lot of unique and classy restaurants downtown, but sometimes you just want a ton of good cheap wings at a sports bar.

Actually BWW is damn expensive for what it is. Both beer and wings are way overpriced.

Looks like Veit will also be doing the parking ramp demo for this project as well.. Pretty soon it's going to be a half block hole! So excited for this block to be finished.

Just noticed on Friday that they are starting to put in windows into the big openings.

If they have some type of ambient glow illuminating the skirting in a similar manner to how Target Field lights up their similar parking ramp skirt, I think it would look decent at night.

What the limit for stick construction?

I wonder if this will be all stick framing from level three and up..

It's not about visibility of the tower on the skyline, it's about location in relation to the city core. It's a prime spot.

Doing some quick math, the AT&T building is about 18k sqft per floor, so using that as a base 800k total sqft is about 44 floors. So it could be nice, though certainly not going to wet the panties of the supertall folk.

Snapped a picture at the 6th floor of the Hawthorne ramp last night. This morning it looks like they may have flooring materials on site and they are putting up temporary fencing through the steel girders on the second level.

^^ Both ideas would be wonderful. The lack of a sidewalk presence is really frustrating with these three main "shopping" hubs. City Center is a brute, and Gaviidae I and II while nice, are mostly blank walls. I hope someday they are renovated to spill their guts to the sidewalk. Retail are...

This property has no new permits for 2014, and the master land use application from 2013 is still open. Makes me wonder if the design is still undergoing changes and that's the holdup.

Several Veit Construction trucks on site today, and one from an environmental services company. Progress!

Pretty sure Veit is doing the parking ramp demo. They've had trucks parked in the lot every time I walk by the area.

Steel framing spanning maybe two levels is going up. Making great progress here.
