Re: Downtown East Project (Ryan Companies / Wells Fargo)
When I heard the medallions were coming down on Monday I biked down here quickly to see the action. It was pretty slow going. They were only doing test cuts to see how far they need go to take off the medallions in the coming weeks. Here's a wider shot of the development area. I'm going to be follo...

Re: Downtown Parking
I have made a thing. That is to say, I mapped all of the surface parking and vacant lots in DT with Google maps. THis might take a little time to load/ run slowly, but it really shows how much space we still have to develop. I didn't include ramps or parking that is surrounded by structures. Yellow...

Re: Saints Lowertown Ballpark
@ Field Condition: just because something can be graphed, doesn't mean it should be. and what is "interactive" about this? It seems that it would be on a static loop of previously recorded swings- that's not interactive. @ Meander: interesting, pleasant to walk past and be around, but a pe...

The speed at which this project is moving is awesome. Lots of activity. At noon they were prepping for the concrete pour for the tower crane foundation.

Re: Stadium Parking Ramp Air Rights Development
I thought the ramp was 7. I'm probably wrong though. And the 27 stories in the article is far from official. Good points. Slight tangent- one thing that bothers me a little about this proposal is it seems to me that when Ryan was facing competition from Mortenson (and other potential developers), t...

Re: Minnesota Multi Purpose Stadium
Is there another stadium that uses the same material for reference? This one in Dunedin, New Zealand is a good example: http://populous.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/Forsyth-Barr_1-990x465.jpg I'm blanking on the name of the material, but when they first announced the roofing material, I googled i...

Re: Mall of America - Bloomington
Is this a spec office building or do they have a tenant lined up? The report is vague, but I did find this: Construction Operations Plan The Construction Operations Plan for the previously approved MOA Phase IC indicated a 24-month construction period (November 2013 to November 2015). It is now ant...

Great picture! Very interesting to see the wall forming along Washington, with the future capstone soon to rise out of the ashes of Arby's.

Re: 510 Marquette Avenue
I am shocked that this building is leasing up so quickly. But maybe it is a sign that if/when WF vacates significant SF in the Baker block or NorthStar for downtown east, those properties could equally be turned into "hip" C buildings in the CBD and also fill up reasonably well.

Re: Andrews Hotel site (4th & Hennepin)
I had never thought about any redeeming qualities about this ramp prior to Aville_37 and twincitizen's comments above. The parking ramp actually could add some visual interest to 4th St. The helix would be quite interesting with some night lighting- a poor man's ode to Guggenheim or something. Of co...

Re: Star Tribune Blocks
According to Adam Voge, Ryan/Strib didn't close today as planned. Rick Collins expects it will happen within 30 days. I may not know what I'm talking about, but I'm sorry, everything about this project and deal just screams S-H-A-D-Y to me!! It's not what's reported, it's what's being dealt under t...

Re: Downtown Office Market
The fact that Wells Fargo intends to own their new space instead of a long term lease demonstrates that at least the WF team believes that the MSP market will remain very strong and rents will be increasing, and Minneapolis in particular, or they would have chosen to do a long term lease. It appears...

For JMS9 et al- (reading everyone's posts back to June, so my post is a mix... sorry) For Sea Life tickets- they have an on-line pass for MN residents only. $11 for adults and $10 for kids. Must buy online and show MN drivers license on arrival. I like the concept/look of the new hotel and office- f...

Re: Rampton Apartments - (201 2nd Avenue Southeast)
It's very interesting reading about the Development Commitment- I had totally forgotten about that. Does anyone else recall when the city sold these ramps what other commitments the other ramps had? E.g. Downtown East ramp? Very interesting/odd concept and layout. I'm glad they are pursuing it- diff...
