Re: C Line - Arterial Rapid Bus & Penn Ave Community Works Project
I recommend that everyone keep an eye on the CTIB situation. If it does dissolve and Hennepin County is able to double its transit sales tax to 0.5%, we transit nerds need to put pressure on the Hennepin County board to fund these arterial BRT lines. They're a relative drop in the bucket compared t...

Re: C Line - Arterial Rapid Bus & Penn Ave Community Works Project
Designs for most of the stations have been posted on the C Line website . Comments are being solicited until January 31. Most of the stations stick to what was established in the Station Plan. New information: The 7th St & 3rd Ave station will be in the right turn lane nearside of 3rd Ave. No bu...

Re: Public Transit News and Current Happenings
Am I the only one who's bothered by the fact that they chose to categorize A-Line as a separate service category, but you can't find anything about the "METRO" Red Line? Coz it's run by MVTA, maybe? Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk Yeah, the Red Line's stats are usually reported by MV...

Sorry I couldn't get any pics from the freeway. Figured it wasn't worth it to try to snap some pics while driving!

Re: Suburban Transit (Opt-out Services Providers)
After a month and a half, Southwest Transit is reducing the frequency of its new Eden Prairie - Shakopee route from hourly to approximately one bus every 1.5 hours.

Proposal at CoW today at 212 James Ave N: http://www.ci.minneapolis.mn.us/www/groups/public/@cped/documents/webcontent/wcmsp-192029.pdf Interesting site given the block's elevation changes. Also, the residential portion is 82 units affordable, 28 market rate. 0.6 mile walk from the future Van White...

Re: Public Transit News and Current Happenings
The 62 now basically fits the criteria for the high frequency network, but isn't included. It's probably because it is a fairly small portion of the route, but it seems like they could pretty easily make it high frequency between Downtown and Co Rd B, without too many extra resources. St. Paul's hi...

Re: A Line - Arterial Rapid Bus
Metro Transit really does not want to start branching the aBRT lines (i.e. having every other A Line bus extend to TCAAP). Looking at the arterial transitways study , the following lines are planned to have shortlines/branches: D line (Shortline runs from Brooklyn Center to Chicago & 56th St) C...

Re: Counties Transit Improvement Board (CTIB)
So is all of this assuming the entire 0.5% would go to capital/operating costs for transitway projects?
If so, regular bus operations are going to suffer, what with the $89 million deficit Metro Transit has this year.

Re: Orange Line (35W BRT) & Lake St Transit Access Project
Why wouldn't they use the HOT lanes south of 46th? All stations south of 46th are "inline" or "offline," meaning they're accessed by exiting the highway. If traffic is light enough that they'd be able to make that weave from on ramp to HOT lane to off ramp, traffic probably isn'...

Re: Arterial Transit Corridor Study ("rapid bus")
Metro Transit's Route 272 uses the Transitway to get from Saint Paul campus to Minneapolis campus. I'm not aware of any other non-campus buses that use it regularly.

Re: Arterial Transit Corridor Study ("rapid bus")
Such as Metro Transit's Route 13, which MT hopes to implement between 2018 and 2010.I really like the idea of extending the Hennepin Ave (E Line) to Stadium Village. It would allow for a significant restructure of the 6 south of Uptown, and perhaps an introduction of a local NE-U of M bus line.

Re: Bicycle Infrastructure
One would hope that is the C Line is shifted to Glenwood, as seems to be the preferred outcome, that the bus stops would be islands with the bike lane shifted behind them to avoid bus conflicts. According to the C-Line project, there's not enough room for floating bus stops. So there will be sharro...
