Vacant School Reuse
The "old" Northrup School on 46th street and 16th Ave (not to be confused with the "New" Northrup School, aka the "Old" Ericsson School), has been sold to Hiawatha Academies, a charter school group that currently runs programs out of the former Morris Park Elementary (5...

Re: Knollwood Mall - St. Louis Park
I stopped caring about Knollwood Mall when Ward's closed, and they turned the space into a Cub by closing off the connection to the inside of the mall. '98 or so.

And as soon as we get real liberal extremists, we'll let you know. Because if the DFL party is what you consider liberal extremism, you really need to get out more.

Re: The Bridges - (950 University Avenue SE)
I still would like to see a better connection from this to 2nd Ave. even if it was just a sidewalk extension/stairwell. The tiered plantings are better than a single, large retaining wall, though.

Re: 301 Walnut (Sally's Building)
A racist dress code is a dress code that is enforced unequally depending on who is wearing the clothes. IE an Oakland Raiders jersey and hat on a white frat boy may be allowed, but the same on a young black male would be considered "gang colors".

Re: Type II LRVs - Siemens S70
I found the "ramp" at the end seating sections a little odd. And the "step down" from the seats to aisle. Not easy to get the kids to the door while the train was drifting to the stop.

Re: Southdale Center - Edina
Wait, is that an entrance/exit ramp directly onto France Ave? Oh for the mess of Byerlys traffic merging north crossing the traffic trying to turn right on Hazleton. And a sucky, sucky sidewalk.

Re: 394 Corridor
There's something being built north of 394 on the frontage road, across from Ridgedate Mall. I didn't pay attention to it assuming it was another chain store/office complex, but from the window spacing it looks almost residential (or a hotel, at least). Anyone know what it is, or am I going to have ...

Re: Saints Lowertown Ballpark
Wait, what? There's no fence between the field and the grassy berm "seating" area? Will players be running into the picnickers chasing foul balls? Ok, I can see this is a great spot for "company/office party seating", but I doubt anyone under the age of 12 will be allowed in the ...

They can't deflate the roof in pieces. That's an event worth a balloon release, at least. Maybe rent a bouncie castle for the kiddies.

When I look at each forum, I have an icon to go to the first unread post. But when I look at the page "View Unread Posts", I do not have that little icon next to each topic.

Commence the screaming that we're making it too easy to apply for county services in 3....2....
Who am I kidding. The screaming started decades ago.

I find those finding signs to be more of a note that "I'd rather not be here." Not the best message to send on Hennepin Avenue.

Re: 2013 Minneapolis Municipal Election
The Green Party held a meeting in Ward 12 last night at Hiawatha School Park. They claim to have gotten three Ward 12 candidates to show up, one seeking DFL endorsement and two who will be running as Greens, plus a Park Board and a BET who will both seek DFL. At the other end of the building, the Cu...

Re: Hennepin Avenue
Looking at the various renderings at http://www.startribune.com/local/blogs/190396381.html and I have to ask, where the hell is the fourth one supposed to be? I like it, but I'm not sure Minneapolis is ready for palm trees. The minute we plant them, I'm sure we'll have some "sapphire palm borer...
