Re: Suburbs - General Topics
Anyone know if there are development plans yet for the site between I-35 and the train tracks in Lakeville? I see it's zoned as medium density residential, and I know eventually the city wants to connect the north and south segments of Kenrick Avenue. Do you mean the area near the Target and the fo...

Re: Arterial Bus Rapid Transit Corridors
Are they still planning to eventually reroute the C Line from Highway 55 to Glenwood Avenue, or is it a wait-and-see situation with the new routing for the Blue Line Extension being studied?

Re: Southwest LRT (Green Line Extension)
I biked to the Golden Triangle, City West, and Opus stations to see how construction is coming along and saw a stockpile of rails and ties near the Opus Station. Also I highly recommend not trying to bike in the Opus area on a weekday. It was difficult enough with all the trail closures and detours,...

Re: Intercity Bus Services
Also having stations that aren't just a McDonalds or gas station off the interstate. Speaking from experience using Jefferson Lines between Minneapolis and Duluth a couple times. Doesn't have to be a huge and grand multi-million dollar station full of amenities, but just something that clearly shows...

Re: Pentagon Park (Hwy 100 & Industrial Blvd) - Edina
Apologies if this was already asked, but what was the logic behind building a parking ramp before the development? I biked over there today and the ramp is fenced off. The little plaza area looks nice, but it’s missing the buildings shown in renderings on giant signs around the site.

Re: Intercity Bus Services
Would be nice if these proposed routes originated/terminated in Downtown Minneapolis instead of requiring people to find a way to these very lightly served "transit stations" in order to ride these intercity routes. I've wanted to try going to Hutchinson without a car for a day trip but th...

Re: Orange Line / 35W@94: Downtown to Crosstown Project
My thoughts: 501/515-I like the new simplified routing of the 515, and I'm glad they kept service to the air cargo facilities at the airport. 534-I know it would be pushing the limits of how far urban local routes can go, but I still believe just extending the Route 4 branches down Lyndale and Penn ...

It's a Bahraini 747. Mayo Clinic visit and from what I've heard it'll be parked at MSP for at least a week. If you're on Facebook the group "Minneapolis/St. Paul Aviation Spotting" is a good place to find out about this stuff.

Re: Highway Transitway Corridor Study
The location alone of this project prevents it from being the red line. And I'm curious what's half-baked about the orange line too you? I'm honestly more excited for that project then I am the green line extension. The only thing I wish they could have added would have been a franklin ave station ...

Re: Highway Transitway Corridor Study
I'm just going to go ahead and assume this would be another half-baked "BRT" service that's part of a highway expansion like the Orange Line and Red Line. The location alone of this project prevents it from being the red line. And I'm curious what's half-baked about the orange line too yo...

Re: Bicycle Infrastructure
I'll have to try it out sometime on my bike. I used it before they installed bollards and even that was a huge improvement over weaving between the travel lane and parking lane. Now they just need to keep it at least somewhat clear of ice and snow in the winter.

Re: Southwest LRT (Green Line Extension)
The railroad bridge (specifically the ex-Milwaukee Road bridge) over Louisiana Avenue in St. Louis Park was being torn down today. I know this was discussed before, but did we ever reach a conclusion as to why they couldn't use that bridge for light rail trains? It was double-track and not extremely...

Re: Northstar Commuter Rail
Since those multi-million dollar stations will only be used by a couple daily roundtrip trains for who knows how long, it would be nice to find other uses for them (not really the platforms, mainly just the parking lots/ramps) like a community gathering space or farmers market.

I guessing since this is technically in downtown that means the title of tallest building outside of Downtown Minneapolis still belongs to Cedar-Riverside?

Re: Highway Transitway Corridor Study
Scenario 2 is the best to me, though I prefer BRT being routed on 35W North and have an online station at University/4th like Trademark mentioned. Considering how liberal our region is with using the term BRT, I'm skeptical this would be anything close to actual BRT instead of something like the Red...
