How tall is this building? The title of the thread says that it’s 48 stories tall, but the post up thread says 41 stories.

Re: Mall of America Transit Station: Master Plan
That’s awesome! Can’t wait for it to be finished. It’s supposed to be finished at the end of July or August, correct? It will be so nice not having to look at that ugly monstrosity that currently is the transit center. It will also be a much smoother transition from the light rail to the mall. Sent ...

Re: Mall of America Transit Station: Master Plan
Got some pictures of the construction work at the new Mall of America transit station this morning. Where exactly will the new escalator from the mall of America transit station to the interior of the mall be located? https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190621/740bd77f4143d916f26ba53859bda044.jpg htt...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis General Topics & Development Map
So they just started work on the Hennepin Avenue reconstruction from Washington Avenue to12 street. Last year they worked on the portion that runs through the Lyndale Hennepin convergence. There is a gap between these two projects. What about the portion from 12th St. to 16th St.? It’s a little over...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis General Topics & Development Map
It would be great to have more office space, but I don’t know if the market could take it right now. I would imagine that it will either end up being luxury apartments or condos. I’m guessing that the area is zoned for very high density because of it’s proximity to downtown and to the train station....

Re: Bottineau LRT (Blue Line Extension)
I strongly agree. I wish our region would more seriously consider piecemeal expansions as money becomes available, with simpler planning and without federal money, and then using those investments as the local "match" for federal dollars when they reach that threshold. Or not, frankly. Cu...

Re: Pedestrian Safety and Infrastructure Improvements
Do the most recent state drivers test manuals cover these type of bike signals? Our bikes signal standardized throughout the country, or do the different cities have different types of signals?

Re: Pedestrian Safety and Infrastructure Improvements
As a follow-up question related to the different color of pavement between pedestrian walking area and biking area, does anyone know if that is the plan along Hennepin Avenue from Washington Avenue to 12 street?

Re: Pedestrian Safety and Infrastructure Improvements
I happen to be walking along Washington Avenue between Hennepin Avenue and fifth Avenue. It looks absolutely beautiful. They did a really good job on the redesign. It definitely makes the pedestrian feel more safe while walking along a busy street. I like that the bike way pavement is color differen...

Re: Bottineau LRT (Blue Line Extension)
This is bordering on fantasy map discussion, but since it relates specifically to the blue line, I’m going to put it here. Anyone out there good at drawing fantasy maps? Could anyone dry up some maps of alternative alignments? I don’t think we would end up with a tunnel. Minneapolis seems to be agai...

So what exactly are the freight real companies throwing a fit about? In simple terms.

Re: Bottineau LRT (Blue Line Extension)
I was looking at some of the engineer in plans for the blue line extension. He travels and Olsen Memorial Highway for a good distance. Does anyone know if the plans are to give trains priority how long is the memorial highway? I believe the highway is owned by the state or county, they can be diffic...

Re: 800 Washington Ave - 14 stories - 173' (Guthrie Ramp liner development: Reloaded)
This is interesting. I like that. Maybe it's because I'm middle aged, but I think about risks of ownership in this building. How well tested are all these interesting elements? It says "Condominium" so I'm assuming these are owner-occupied units, and it's a lot to ask a pool of random som...

That’s awsome! Good that the city is thinking forward. Not holding my breath on MNDOT though.

I echo the same sentiment. I’d love to see this one be under construction at the same time as Hennepin Avenue is reconstructed, and gateway is constructed.

Thanks for the reassurance.
I found an article talking about the transit ridership drops in Minneapolis yesterday. I was very concerned.

Re: Brainstorming: reimagine Franklin Avenue between Hennepin and Bloomington
Here are some very rough measurements I took using Google maps. The measurements were taken along Franklin Avenue between first avenue and Stevens Avenue Approximate street width of 43 feet.
