Re: Riverview LRT

The ford rail spur, along with the land that the old Ford plant sits on, is a great opportunity to tie in Union Depot to the airport and MOA. Furthermore, looking at the PDF by the city shows how it skirts right along some of the newer TOD projects like Schmidt lofts and Victoria park...even Ford pk...

Re: Whitaker Buick Site (University & Griggs)

What a bummer when I see this site that a good chunk of this block to the west of the goodwill store is a surface parking lot. I wish they could've put a strip of parking along the back of the store.

Re: Hamline Station - (1333 University Avenue)

Yesterday I saw some heavy equipment moved onto the site. Perhaps demolition and excavation is close at hand.

Re: Green Line (Central Corridor LRT)

That is wonderful. Now, we all have our favorite gripes about it, and for me, it the stretch of lights between Raymond and westgate Station, specifically over 280. All I ask is that they sync those two lights over 280, so when the train makes the first it doesn't have to sit on the bridge (with its ...

Re: Green Line (Central Corridor LRT)

There is a big old weedy patch of green right across the street from kstp at the westgate station. Ok, so it's not a park but I thought one of the primary goals off the green line was to increase density. Aren't parks kind of like retail? That is: a nice amenity for the surrounding population? Maybe...

Re: Hamline Station - (1333 University Avenue)

Ok so there was the ceremonial ground breaking but any idea when this construction project gets underway for real?

Re: Green Line (Central Corridor LRT)

http://www.twincities.com/transportation/ci_26378930/should-light-rail-get-priority-at-st-paul The front page article in yesterdays pioneer press did a good job comparing the green line with similar lines around the country. Hopefully this will be the first of many steps to giving more preemption to...

Re: Green Line (Central Corridor LRT)

I heard on the radio today that St Paul was going study and give the train more priority at 3 of the secondary intersections. It said that they wanted to see how it would effect cross traffic and pedestrians. They didn't mention which intersections.

Re: Zip Rail to Rochester

What a Scott Walker wanna be. His initial claim to fame was this tweet which he then retracted:

"Let's be honest, 70% of teams in NBA could fold tomorrow + nobody would notice a difference w/ possible exception of increase in streetcrime."

Dooooah!

Re: Green Line (Central Corridor LRT)

Any figures for rider ship last week on the green line?
Does metro transit publish those weekly? And if yes where do they publish them?

Will there be a skating rink and warming houses for the winter ? Can't find that info in their website but I remember hearing that it'll be used for that as well.

Re: Green Line (Central Corridor LRT)

Yesterday I saw a WB train stopped at Chatsworth. There were 4 metro transit peeps with hard hats , observing and jotting things down on their clip boards. Their vehicles parked there said something like "LRT signal communications". I'm sure it's not as simple as flipping a switch, but may...

Re: Bicycle Infrastructure

Yeah I got teased and took that route there yesterday and got stopped by the stairs. I was trying to make it to bridge 9. Now I know, and I won't repeat that mistake again. But why then, do they make it so tempting and juicy by striping a bright path to the left? Weird. Maybe they could put a sign u...

Re: St. Paul Restaurant News

I noticed that Bin Wine Bar closed and is moving to Linden hills. Anyone know if there is anything planned to go in that space? It looks like a turnkey restaurant opportunity. It seem like they left everything and just locked up the doors one night and closed up. 6th street, on that block at least i...

Re: Green Line (Central Corridor LRT)

I am currently at overflow cafe (best coffee shop on the greenline IMO) overlooking the prospect park stop. The westbound trains are absolutely packed.. Some cars are standing room only . I imagine people are all heading to TCF stadium for the concert. The sun is out, and the people are looking happ...
