Re: Uptown (and LynLake) Development & General Topics
If happily be open to a development that didn't touch anything on the southern edge of the block. I have a hard time imagining uptown without that ace hardware though. It was a frequent stop for me.

Re: Eleven - 1111 West River Parkway - 41 stories / 550'
Wow... so that makes it the 5th or at least tied for 5th tallest building in Minneapolis? I would never have guessed a top 5 tower would get built so far outside of the core. With the quality and design though, I'm not mad about it. (I also secretly hope someday it has a companion on each side... wh...

Looks great! Love the modern contrast in style but respect to the urban format. Nice lines and quality materials. Build it!

Re: Karmel Square 2020
Realistically having an 8/9 story project just a couple blocks from the future redevelopment of Lake and Nicollet is a great president for height and density in the area. With not a lot of other tall structures in the area (aside from the towers just south which i think the neighborhood would try to...

Re: Riversedge (Former West Publishing / County Jail site)
I think that rendering really shows the buildings but different angle might show that the views aren't as blocked.
I like the colors they are very St Paul colors and architecture needs more color these days

Re: Calhoun Square
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Five_Points,_Manhattan There are Five Points in other cities, too. Pretty sure Atlanta and Denver have one. We was more of a Minnesota inclusive statement... we would have had a seven points instead of corners neighborhood etc... but historically I haven't seen that he...

Re: Calhoun Square
Naming a project "seven points" when it sits at a standard four way intersection is just another example of the destruction of our societal norms. I think it has to do with the crown structure that holds the sign on top of the building, and not the intersection? Do we call corners points?

Re: 1301 W Lake St - LOCAL Ventures - 14 stories / 160'
It's less scale and more that massing with no design interest, for me. it's just kind of an ugly brick and doesn't further the funky neighborhood character at all. They could easily get away with some... interesting color, texture, shape...

Honestly, looks really nice, a little small, but needed housing. I wish it had at least one retail space.

Even has a table/window eating area looking at the LRT station for quick stops-and-goes. But I'd be money that after the first two grab-and-gos, that door gets locked up for security I know the Holiday in North Loop has a door like this. Does anyone know if its ever locked? IIRC its been open the c...

Re: 17 North Washington - CA Ventures - 27 stories - ~300'(?)
I get that a lot of architecture fans seem to be interested in that building, but I'll be very happy to see it go. It's street-presence is so deadening and terrible, with the tuck under surrounded by shrubbery. Realistically it would be very easy to make the street presence better. (And not be pain...

Cool! I guess that's covered then! Some sort of convenience store or small target is much needed. When I worked at the hewing and guests needed a convenience store/pharmacy the closest were on nicollet or across the river in ne. Sooooo this is much needed!

The North Loop has been looking for a pharmacy. My bet is it's something with a pharmacy, do the urban format targets and cubs have room for that? Otherwise my bet is on Walgreens or cvs

Re: Duffy Paper Development by Cedar Street Cos
I was also confused by the lack of anything on the roof of the new construction... even a green roof or grill area would be appreciated by the residents I'd think.
