Re: Midtown Greenway
Given the unknowns about the condition of the bridge and the long term usage of it for rail traffic it seems to me that building a new parallel bridge coupled with a similar layout to what exists on the west side of the river (one rail track a service road and then the bike path) going at least to C...

Re: Prospect Park - General Topics
Update on Malcolm Yards food hall project: The city has decided that the food hall has to be considered a shopping center instead of a restaurant which will require different zoning and this has led the Met council to require that an environmental review be preformed on the site. The end result is t...

Re: 200 Central - Alatus Tower (Washburn-McReavy Site) 483' / 40 Stories
I don't have any legal background but it seems it may be a bit early to celebrate. The way the order reads to me it seems this is just a ruling by the district court (finally) on the last part of NEBL's original case not on the appeal which is still before the appellate court. We still need to hope ...

Re: Nordhaus Phase II
I should have clarified that. Given how few details there are on the website and how big the number is I wonder how firm that 800 number is as it seems like an awful lot for a building set to open next year that probably doesn't have any units to show yet. Still it explains why we are seeing so many...

Re: 3001 Fourth Street Southeast
Update on Aeon project. Still working to get last amount of needed funding hoping to get final amount from city in October. Finally saw some preliminary details about the building: 39 spaces of car parking all underground entrance off of 30th Ave SE Around 100 bike spaces Around 70 units in a U shap...

Re: 3300 University Ave. SE - United Properties
Saw a presentation about this project at PP Land Use committee. The developer has purchased the Tierney building (3300 University Ave SE) and is negotiating the purchase of the auto repair shop next door (3326 University Ave SE). Developer wants to save the Tierney building a move many on the commit...

Proposed Street layout (page 38) and development plan for Malcolm Yards (the area north of the transitway and west of Surly). Of particular interest is this statement about the southeastern portion of the lot: "Wall has a signed MOU with a specialty grocer, who proposes 50,000 SF of grocery and...

I never said I agreed with the bike parking reduction. On another note I wonder if the surface parking lot will be a problem with getting approval.

Re: Northeast (and Southeast) - General Topics
Happy to see this development going forward. An earlier set of plans where presented to Prospect Park around 2 months ago. The earlier plans had an additional car entrance off of Malcolm which I am happy to see removed and were a story taller. I believe the reasoning behind the bike parking reductio...

Re: Public Transit News and Current Happenings
If this becomes law and we don't get an FFGA in time. Which would really suck after so many years of planning. Then it seems that the funding potentially available to build and operate abrt lines and the Midtown line would skyrocket. I hope SWLRT gets built but if it doesn't then the rate of abrt li...

Re: Prospect Park - General Topics
Yes it is the 3/4 quarters of the block around Teamster. I will say in defense of Prospect Park that although some weren't pleased at the height of the senior development (the main concern being the difference in height with the east side of Malcolm) they still said they would support the project. A...

Re: Brickhouse Lofts, 150 26th Avenue SE
I stand corrected, the project still is moving forward although it will be done in two phases. Source is email from PPA. The first phase of the project has been submitted to MPLS Inspections for their review. Phase I includes the following: 1. Interior remodeling of the Maxwell Building 2. Adding tw...

Re: Brickhouse Lofts, 150 26th Avenue SE
They have not done any work in a while from what I can tell. There have been several complaints given to the Prospect Park zoning committee concerning the site. Including lack of progress, inadequate lighting, and illegally selling parking during game days if memory serves me correct. Some or all of...

Re: United North Loop Office Building - 729 Washington Av N
Project has been appealed by Herschel Lofts Homeowners Association and NNLL who have hired an attorney (I hope this doesn't indicate a court battle is in the offing). They primarily take issue with the section of the office building over the rail corridor, the presence of the parking ramp, and havin...
