You invented "Beg Button" ??? that's awesome! I use that phrase frequently but I didn't know where credit was due.

Re: Washington Avenue

Do you follow Strong Towns at all MNdible? The whole Kansas City thing? I feel like you are a little lost here. Chuck defines Stroads as facilities that are partially designed as a road and partially designed as a street, but fail to provide the value of either. So, yes, any Mpls street that has bee...

Re: Washington Avenue

There are lots of options to make it more of a street with the wide ROW. Basically this would be **anything but** what was actually done with downtown streets ~50 years ago, which was to fit as many traffic lanes as possible inside the ROW. This could be a combination of -Wider sidewalks -Cycletrack...

Re: 36 Park Apartments - St. Louis Park

Anyone have a map of the location of all this infill in SLP? Trying to figure out how a street grid could be filled in, but it seems Google satellite is likely out of date.

Re: Mayo Expansion Proposal - Rochester

Rochester actually has quite a bit of potential, and it has improved quite a bit in the past few years. It has the feel of a budding college town without actually having a large higher ed presence. It has a walkable downtown and great core neighborhoods. I think HSR to Roch, as part of a future line...

Re: Selby and Snelling

I think they need to build the connection to 94 at Pascal to help relieve this traffic. I realize the residents would fight this, but I think strategic roads coupled with traffic calming on streets is a good strategy.

Re: 301 Walnut (Sally's Building)

Ok that seems racist. But it's the unequal enforcement that's racist, not the dress code.

Re: 301 Walnut (Sally's Building)

What exactly is a racist dress code? Aren't people free to dress themselves however they want?

Re: Downtown Restaurant News

Actually I like the current streets, except for the lazy patching. Keeps people driving slow. As soon as engineers get involved, we run a high risk of ending up with this:

I thought the HERC permit request was to allow use up to the existing maximum capacity, not expansion of the facility.

Re: Lowertown Depot

I wonder how the future Kittson Street in the Lafayette Bridge plans will interact with 4th here. I hope it intersects. Unless Kittson bridges over 4th, it also looks like this will remove the existing rail spur curve that parallels 4th St. Also, the Google satellite view differs from the layout on ...

Looks like the Edina PC delayed a vote on this, citing concerns about pedestrian access. http://bit.ly/MSPBJ-12dorhe "the commission still had concerns over pedestrian access and what to do with the store's loading dock. (Similar comments were aired on our Facebook posting of the new designs.)&...

Honestly I didn't know those ramps were even there, north of 50th. The only ramp I could support in this node is one that allows for the Lund's surface lot to get new development.

Re: Southdale Center - Edina

My reasoning for a multiway boulevard would be a framework for incremental density as these parcels get redeveloped (such as the Byerlys, or Southdale outlots, etc)... Basically the point is that it would give a defined form for development that would approach France Ave without sitting behind a sea...
