Re: U.S. Bank Stadium Construction Updates
Other than leering, what are the objections to the trough? As I told my brother, "Remember the good ol' days, when you'd wear shorts to the Metrodome, and feel the blowback spray from the kid next to you hit you in the shins as you stepped up to the pee trough? Yeah...that was awesome." (...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis General Topics & Development Map
Does anyone know what's happening on the first floor of the apartment building formerly known as Symphony Place? First floor windows are boarded up. Could be a good location for a coffee shop or fast casual trying to get convention attendees.

Re: The Commons - Downtown East Park
When I was walking through the park on Tuesday, I was hoping to myself that they wouldn't "upgrade" anything. I like that it's relatively simple and not overdone. Just a really nice open space downtown.

Give me a trip planner that focuses on frequency and accessibility, not just getting me to a point at a time. This is a perfect example of why Free Software is important and why walled gardens just aren't good ecosystems for some types of apps. I've toyed with the idea of writing my own transit app...

Re: Bicycle Infrastructure
Semi-recent news out of Kalamazoo, Michigan. Driver swerves into a pack of nine cyclists, kills five, seriously injures four others. Absolutely horrendous. No indication if alcohol was a factor in this. They usually get that to press pretty quickly so I'm assuming it wasn't. Just more justification ...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis General Topics & Development Map
This building is so frustrating. The corner of the hotel with the Normandy sign fronts the sidewalk pretty well. However, the rest of the building is so awkwardly situated on the lot I don't think development of the parking lot is possible without demolishing the entire lot and starting over.

I love the second letter, "I can't think of any reason [...] Red Cow would want to have this license approved other than to make more money."
NAAAHHH! Why would a resturant ever want to make more money?? They're just here for the shits and giggles! [/sarcasm]

Looks like there is a lot of RAARRR PARKING in the 'opening day' layout. Hopefully, the full site development doesn't get stuck in bureaucratic gridlock and stay that way.

Re: AC Marriott Hotel (401 Hennepin Ave / Andrews Hotel site)
They've updated the rendering for the Portland ac Marriott... great dark brick going up the building, retro metal paneling between the windows, cool green accents running up the building. Great materials, massive windows on the street... anyone still want to argue that ours is the better one? http:...

Re: DTE: Wells Fargo, Radisson Red, Edition Apts & Millwright Building
With the stadium couldn't the neighborhood just be "Bank Town" with "The Bankton Commons" or like instead of the "west bank" it could be the "Bank Bank" No that wouldn't work because US Bank has paid money for the naming rights to the stadium and transit stat...

The NFL ended their blackout policy because it didn't work so that's a non-starter. I'm against public financing sports venues. I'm just trying to make the point that both the Twins and Vikings hosed taxpayers. The Twins just hosed us less. Regarding attendance. US Banks stadium will be used for man...

Re: DTE: Wells Fargo, Radisson Red, Edition Apts & Millwright Building
1. There was plenty of squaking about tax dollars being funneled to the construction of Target Field. This board just wasn't around then. 2. Twins way was a newly created street when TF was built and is largely a service drive. The Vikings were going to completely rename Chicago Ave, not the much mo...

So much black siding. Along with the black siding of USB stadium, that block of 6th will feel like you walking on the side of the Death Star. Hopefully, the city can push for more brick.

I never knew they made their edible undies on site!LOL...The rooftop patio was designed to block sound from the
neighboring apartments located above the Smitten Kitchen and Caffrey’s.
