Re: New Theme!
Anyone have good coding/html/php/css skills and able to help out with pulling the code for the "Latest unread post" from the old theme and adding it to the new theme. I just tried and failed quite a few times. Suggestions or help in this case would be appreciated! It's been quite a while ...

Re: Interstate 494
Up at the other end of 494, MNDot has a "plan." And yes, the Strib comments section is exactly as fun—already—as you would expect it to be.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but that guy is going to get a lot taller over the next several months, no?

Re: 3D Apple Maps
Bounded by the 494-694 beltway on the north, east, and south and MN100 on the west, roughly speaking. That's a fairly sizable amount of land, all things considered. I wonder how often they'll update. We've got a lot of holes in the ground that'll be much taller in a year.

3D Apple Maps
I don't know when this happened, but Apple updated their maps of MPLS and now we have the 3D view. Kick ass. Re: Nicollet-Central Corridor
I was hoping to see it get to Diamond Lake Road with stops at 50th and the Parkway, but that long bridge might be a cost-prohibitive problem.

Re: Washington Avenue
As is my map. This does make a lot more sense than trying to swap 4th and the LRT. And you gotta dig that bikeway connection from the U to DTE. Edit 1: didn't realize the [thumbnail] BBCode went away. Click to enlarge: Version 3 Edit 2: Obviously, Froggie's version of this map is better. Just updati...

Re: Washington Avenue
That makes a ton of sense. No moving of LRT tracks/bridges and no removal of buildings. I like it.

Re: 3rd/4th Viaduct + Development
So instead of getting work done this morning, I decided to entertain my fetish for modified Google Maps and take this little road/street redo beyond the 10th Ave boundary of my first whack posted above. Here's a quick hit-list of the tweakages, or just skip down to the images. 3rd/4th Street viaduct...

Re: Washington Avenue
This might be crazy, but what if 5th and 4th just ran under the new stadium? What you have drawn as 4th now is just accessed from Washington and the N/S streets? Maybe it's just not even feasible, but if we're tearing out the area why not make everything line up and go right under? Then you'd get c...

Re: Lyndale Garden Center Site
For the life of me I cannot tell from those site plans if they plan to keep any of the existing structure. I drive past it semi-regularly to get to LA Fitness and they've really fixed things up lately. The glass has been cleaned and repaired and it almost looks like they're planning to reuse it. But...

Re: Washington Avenue
I tinkered around a bit with swapping 4th Street and the LRT. I realize that it is expensive to move LRT tracks, but this change would run just three blocks—from 11th to Chicago—and most of the work could be done without shutting down the line. Fill in the trench, tear up 4th, build the new ROW para...

Re: Washington Avenue
Ideally, the tracks would slide south to where the current street is east of Chicago, then the new street wouldn't have to be so close to 3rd... but that sounds spendy. More spendy than telling Valspar that they have to give up a portion of their newly remodeled building? (Note: I might not have th...

Re: 3rd/4th Viaduct + Development
...The simplest, though probably more expensive option, would have the exits intersect with Plymouth at the overpass and then proceed onto the 3rd/4th one-way couplets... That's exactly what I was trying to wrap my head around when I started goofing around in Photoshop with Google Maps screenshots....

Re: Twin Cities Future Transit Map
When a street is a city boundary as France is, how is it determined which city maintains and alters the street? Or is the actual boundary on one side of the street or the other?
