Re: Riverview LRT

I like this plan. I am thinking the route through Fort Snelling would be opposed. Also the MOA station would have to add two new bay for trains.

Re: Public Transit News and Happenings

Southwest Transit is running a double-decker bus today. What's the story behind this? Is it going to be a regular route bus from now on?

Re: Type II LRVs - Siemens S70

Metro Transit is reconfiguring the handicap spaces in the Type 2 LRVs to include a companion seating. The LRV will go from 4 bike racks to 2 bike racks. The Transportation Accessibility Advisory Committee minutes on June 4, 2014 . Item 2 Metro Transit Modifies Light Rail Cars for $300,000 I wonder h...

Re: Green Line (Central Corridor LRT)

How much is the ridership is from the bus lines that was trimmed or cut? Also, something needs to be done about the delayes due to bar signal before we lose the choice riders. I think it is great the ridership is going well.

I operated the Green Line westbound down Ceder St this afternoon without stopping for a bar signal. It was the first time I was able to go 25 MPH woohoo.

Re: Green Line (Central Corridor LRT)

I think you might have the terminology wrong. Or are you thinking of the priority that emergency vehicles get? I believe you are thinking of preemption. I know St Paul will not have that. I would like to see preemption on some of the less major intersections. The people you need to complain to is th...

Re: Green Line (Central Corridor LRT)

About the destinations signs, I would suggest that you contact Metro Transit and give them feedback. Maybe they will keep the Downtown St Paul and MSP. As far as the bar signal, please be patient. The operators are just as frustrated? I know I am. We are being told that it is a work in progress. Did...

Re: Green Line (Central Corridor LRT)

They're using the green badge and destination instead of TEST TRAIN now, but they still seem to be working out the kinks a bit. When I saw a train headed Minneapolis-bound its sign said "Metrodome/Downtown East" instead of Target Field. We are testing the automatic announcement system on ...

Re: Green Line (Central Corridor LRT)

Something odd I've noticed while surveying speed limits along the line is that the signs aren't placed where I expect them to be. Maybe Metro Transit operates under different rules than regular railroads do, but I'd always heard that a train can't accelerate until the tail end has passed a sign upp...
