Re: Riverside Plaza

Just finished repainting the exterior panels a couple weeks ago. Such an enormous improvement. Not sure the status of the rest of the renovation but I assume there is still a good deal left to do. I sure hope they aren't finished. At least one of the buildings - the short "brown" one - st...

Re: Nicollet Residences - (455 Nicollet Mall)

John what are your views about the height reduction?
On a similar note, I would appreciate if John would reflect on the use of cut-rate building materials - concrete board in particular.

Re: Park Vista (2nd Street South & 11th Avenue South)

What does that likely mean compared to the old one?
Stanton originally proposed a 150-unit building. (source: http://millcitytimes.com/news/city-sham ... g-par.html)

Re: Downtown Restaurant News

Smack shack at (I think) 605 Washington is moving along slowly, but it's moving along. They recently installed large green commercial/industrial style doors all around the side. From the looks of them they'll be opened when the weather is nice. I ask one of the chefs at the SS truck when the brick ...

Re: Park Vista (2nd St S & 11th Ave S)

You mean South of Washington? I agree. Mostly because Zigi WIlf is a major developer and I believe he owns some of those vacant properties (and maybe will work with the Strib to acquire more). Are you sure? I was under the impression he backed out of that deal and never acquired that land. He backe...

Re: Downtown Restaurant News

I read a recent proposal that is looking to convert the upper floors of building across 8th street from the Pence building (the Pence is kitty corner, this building is directly across 8th from shinders) to residential use. Not sure the story on that though. There is a thread on that project. It wil...

Re: Park Vista (2nd St S & 11th Ave S)

Stanton obviously preferred Izzy's wouldn't be located in front of his building - he planned on using that space for landscaping the entrance to Park Vista. It made sense for him to take that stance, but now with the Bridgewater nearly sold out, it makes sense for him to go ahead with the project in...

Depending on where you're standing, you can probably see the tops of the "Big 3" from that rooftop - especially from the corner at Henn. & 8th St.

Re: Park Vista (2nd St S & 11th Ave S)

I think it will look especially awesome from the other side of the river, Hug in the Guthrie, and anchor the skyline a little! I agree-- it will definitely stretch the skyline in that direction. Not that it's tall, but it'll be much taller than its neighbors ... To be fair, Bridgewater is 8/10 stor...
