Re: Soo Line Building Apartments - (501 Marquette Avenue)

Any update on where this project is at? I'm moving to MSP and am strongly considering Soo Line Building but do not know much about the neighborhoods or this location. Is it close to restaurants? Will the building be shaded by the surrounding skyscrapers? Is it a safe area? Thank you to all who cont...

Re: LPM Apartments - (1368 LaSalle Avenue)

One reason for less parking is because of the parking ramp kitty corner to it. Plus I think they had to build part of the garage with the option to install the double decker parking things (technical term). I know it was an issue that had to be worked out.

Re: Orchestra Hall

^^^Thanks for the photos Matt. The "City Room" projecting out from the lobby is really making a good connection with Nicollet Mall. Now, if we could just save the fountains on Peavey Plaza! It would be one of the most interesting urban spaces in Minneapolis. Personally I think it sticks o...

Re: Downtown Demographics

I agree it is weird that DT is in the Southwest District. It is in Zone 3A which includes Downtown East, Downtown West, Elliot Park, and Loring Park neighborhoods. (North Loop is in a different zone. I think their high school is North??)

Re: StoneBridge (2nd Street South & 11th Avenue South)

To attract families with children downtown, you need to have good and accessible schools, especially at the elementary level where there is currently a growing demographic. There has been some talk of opening up a public elementary school, and if that happened, I think it would be helpful in attrac...
