If this corridor keeps expanding, maybe the 23 will be bumped up to Hi-Frequency sooner than we thought!

Re: Blue Line (Hiawatha LRT)
Anyone know anything about a planned expansion of the Lake Street Park & Ride? In the Council's draft Transportation Improvement Plan, it's listed as a 2016 project on page A-38. I thought at first it was a typo and was supposed to be the Fort Snelling P&R expansion, but that's listed two pa...

Re: Northside - General Topics
A blog post from MinnPost arguing for CM Johnson's amendment to the new parking reduction ordinance, and for more equity benchmarks for North Minneapolis. I've got to say, it's fairly convincing: http://www.minnpost.com/minnesota-blog-cabin/2015/07/new-parking-rules-not-ready-north-minneapolis-imple...

Re: Bicycle Infrastructure
First, I should make it clear that I'm still really excited about this route! Even though I'd never use it very much because there's not a whole lot of destinations for me there (aside from The Hub), this is still pretty cool. Hopefully they expand it soon (tier 2 on the bike plan). As far as why th...

Re: Bicycle Infrastructure
As a U of M student, I'm pretty excited about the Oak St bikeway. I was looking at the layout (found here: http://www.minneapolismn.gov/www/groups/public/@publicworks/documents/images/wcms1p-140073.pdf ) and was still really happy with it. I was also wondering how they were going to handle the trans...

Re: Orange Line (35W BRT) & Lake St Transit Access Project
Just found an Orange Line design update for the transportation committee: http://www.metrocouncil.org/METC/files/2f/2f086b25-2ef5-4f07-bcdd-5cefc3df2d61.pdf The Knox Avenue part is mostly a repeat of what was presented to the CTIB (except it adds cross sections). As far as Downtown Access, it looks ...

Re: Orange Line (35W BRT) & Lake St Transit Access Project
This month's CTIB meeting includes an update on the Orange Line. Overall, it talks about scheduling and cost risks associated with the lines. The project is currently still on schedule. It also has some plans for the Knox underpass, access into Downtown, and for the Burnsville Terminus. This include...

Re: Green Line (Central Corridor LRT)
Going through Stadium Village, I noticed that the city closed Washington Ave from Oak to Walnut to install a variable message sign. I'm pretty sure that means the Green Line Bus Bridge has to detour around that. More fantastic timing...

I didn't realize how much work had to be done to refurbish them and how much of a beating they had taken over the years.

Re: Public Transit News and Happenings
Regarding the MVTA Project I mentioned in my post about redistributing the B-Line's CMAQ funds: The MVTA got back to me and said that they are planning to run service between Shakopee and SWLRT when it opens. This would be a sort of interim/starter bus service to run before that happens. They don't ...

Metro Transit Problems
First of all, I want to apologize if this isn't the correct section for this topic. Anyways, last week I submitted a complaint to MT about a bus that passed me and 4 other people without stopping, trying to give them as much info as possible. This was the response: "Thank you for contacting Met...

Re: Public Transit News and Happenings
The Transportation Advisory Board is deciding how to reallocate the CMAQ funds that were originally designated for the B-Line. They've got 2 options laid out for how to spend the money. Both options include: *Expand service on route 62 *MVTA Highway 169 Connector *Expand service on route 2 *Transit ...

Re: "A Line" Snelling Avenue Arterial Bus
According to the May 11 Transportation Committee meeting, the TVMs for the A-Line (And C and D Lines) will print tickets that will not be able to be used on regular bus fareboxes and will not be able to recharge Go-To cards. This allows each TVM to cost $11,000 instead of the $80,000 the LRT TVMs co...

Re: Green Line (Central Corridor LRT)
Yesterday, I saw a Bombardier train on the Green Line. The first car had the old style paint job (didn't realize any of them hadn't been repainted yet) and an updated digital display that wasn't displaying a color. Also someone on the bus was using a portable CD player.

Re: Southwest LRT (Green Line Extension)
Plans have changed quite a bit for the Downtown Hopkins park and ride. Originally, the city was going to built a 240-space 2 story park and ride on a lot they were going to purchase and leave room for private development. Now, a developer has bought the land. The developer plans to build a 1 level 2...

Re: Bicycle Infrastructure
There will be no protected bike lane on 9th st this summer. From public works: "Hi Tyler, Public Works has decided not to pursue the 9th St protected bikeway project in 2015. The resurfacing provided an opportunity to implement a project; however, the resurfacing schedule did not provide adequa...
