Re: West Lake Station / Calhoun Village area - multimodal study, development, etc.
Wasn't sure where to put this, so thought this was as good as place as any to do so. I was having the annual tax appointment at HR Block at Calhoun Village and asked the tax advisor I've worked with for years if they were moving their office due to the impending move of Walgreens into that space as ...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Macy's Building
TANGENT: I wish someone had photos of the pool for the Dayton family on the 13th floor. I worked in that building for a few years during my first years at Dayton Hudson and never had the opportunity to see the 13th floor.

Re: Uptown Retail & Restaurant News
Weird...the Uptown location has been closed and signs up in the windows saying it was changing as I go to spin next door at CycleBar. Now to see who made the mistake: the newspaper or the owners?

Re: Street, Road and Highway Projects
The line of cars on Blaisdell at 35th street was about 2.5 blocks long during rush hour yesterday. While in essence, that fact doesn't bother me, but what DOES bother me is when people block intersections. I was attempting to get tot he Blaisdell Y via 34th street and people were blocking the inters...

Re: Uptown Retail & Restaurant News
CYCLEBAR (spin gym) has opened between Agra Culture and Coup d'Etat about a week ago. I've gone to a couple of classes as they've been free the first 10 days and think it's a good addition to the neighborhood. It's basically like SoulCycle if you have take a class there and they really have a pretty...

Re: Uptown Retail & Restaurant News
Just because it's a sports bar in nature, doesn't mean only those interested in sports will go there. :) Plus, I'm sure they will take advantage of the outdoor space, which will be awesome for happy hour. I live in Uptown and while I don't watch sports or participate in a league, I'd still go have d...

May we just refer to the park architect as the "parkitect"? I think that has a nice ring to it.

Re: Alatus St. Anthony Tower (Washburn-McReavy Site)
How the hell did La Rive and The Pinnacle get approved in a historic district? The height of those towers are out of proportion and Winslow House is probably "too tall" as well.

Re: Downtown East - Wells Fargo / Radisson Red / Edition Apt
I'm curious what leverage the Vikings had in this in the first place. How can one entity control what another does with their property? I understand the city ordinance angle but the city should be able to give the OK to a sign without requiring legal permission from other parties. Did WF purchase s...

Read the articles, gang and not just the headline. The agreement was that WF could have a flat painted logo on each roof. WF has now made those flat painted logos illuminated with 3D letters. This is what the Vikes say...

You do realize that the name Nicollet Mall doesn't refer to the idea of a shopping mall, correct? Mall also means 'promenade'.

Is this really a 2 story ramp as stated in the article or is the employee parking lots? I've been out that way many times as well as just looked at Google maps and don't see a ramp, just parking lots. What am I missing?

Re: Hennepin & Lyndale Bottleneck Project
So, if you eliminated left hand turn at Oak Grove on SB Lyndale, you would have a pretty huge gap in being able to make a left. Your next option is really 22nd St and no left turns between 4p-6p all the way down to 28th St. I used to live at 15th & Spruce in Loring Park and used that left turn a...

Re: 26th / 28th Streets in South Minneapolis
I think if serious consideration is given to converting 26/28th Steerts to two way then the city needs to think about converting some of the N/S aves to one-way. I live on Bryant between 29th (Greenway) and 28th and say it is absolutely terrible to drive down Bryant when another car is coming toward...

Gut punch to you or gut punch to Anodyne? I think the article I read stated Anodyne sold to Bull Run, so maybe they were just ready to be done with the coffee biz.
