Re: Saint Paul - General Topics

Trista said she's working on it. It looks to me like a good site for industry. It's really not a visible location for retail.

Re: Former West Publishing / County Jail development site

The next two phases would include additional public “shelf” space, and an office tower each. Both the later phases could be optional. If completed, AECOM claimed the 10-acre project would contribute an annual $13.5 million to $16.3 million in taxes. This kind of tax revenue seems like a good return...

Re: Former West Publishing / County Jail development site

Also, in comparing this to Kellogg Mall Park, there would be riverfront space that would not be separated from people by 6 lanes of traffic. But this rendering makes it very unclear what is pedestrian space vs car space. The rendering Ethan posted shows cars between the buildings and the river. Is i...

Re: Former West Publishing / County Jail development site

So the land bridge has big gaping holes in it where you can peer down onto Shepard road? That is not what I was expecting. https://i.imgur.com/wPux5Nl.png However, if it becomes easy to ride your bike down to the river without having to cross live traffic on Shepard I think it will be heavily used a...

My first thought is because of Kellogg.

Their dockless map looks pretty terrible if you live in South Mpls- https://www.niceridemn.com/blog/dockless-system-update
It looks even worse if you live in St. Paul.

Re: Labeling the Transit System

I think the 14th St stop on the Rush Line and the Robert St stop on the Green Line are meant to be a transfer point, though they'll be right around the corner from one another. This is not shown well on the map, but I think it will be difficult to show it simply, given the quick turns of the Green L...

Re: Riverview Corridor Streetcar

Advantage of Rush going on current routing rather than E7th or Kellogg is allowing a transfer to the Green Line without going into DT StP. I like the idea of Rush heading into DT MPLS, but people have complained about the length of routes and I'm just skeptical it would happen.

This includes Green and Gold. You can imagine the Rush just coming down Robert and meeting the Gold Line routing. I can't remember the Riverview routing, tho.

Re: Bicycle Infrastructure

I hope public works will take a look at this. I was thinking of just swapping out with a traffic lane because there seem to be extra. Also seems less politically difficult than swapping out parking. Some of the parking is bookended with bumpouts which wouldn't allow bike lanes (can't remember how ma...

Re: Bicycle Infrastructure

I wrote a post proposing buffered bike lanes in DT St. Paul of 5th and 6th. I wasn't sure beforehand whether to propose them on the right side (the bus side) or the left side (sometimes parking lanes). Any thoughts?
