Re: Root District - Farmers Market / Royalston Station

I like it! I think branding can go a long way. I appreciate the movement towards creating unique brands for the neighborhoods.

Re: Bottineau LRT (Blue Line Extension)

Couldn't this be a good thing if they change the route to something more beneficial to residents? Or does this push the timeline back 5+ years?

Re: Eleven - 1111 West River Parkway - 41 stories / 550'

Yes we definitely haven't seen the insane amounts of appreciation that some of the other cities around the world have. But, Minneapolis and the Twin Cities market is widely seen as very strong. That's why you've seen foreign companies buying up some of our most iconic office buildings. Wouldn't doub...

Re: Broadway Station Redevelopment - 2025 West River Rd

Okay I'm relatively new to the whole city-planning thing as I'm 23 and just found out about this stuff as a hobby, but what the heck are we thinking? Why would not every development along the river include some space for a restaurant, brewery, bar, winery, distillery with patio space so people could...

When do they usually report population figures? Always excited to see what sort of growth we've experienced over the past year.

^ Uptown still seeing tons of development in the meantime. I'm always shocked by the number of cranes in the area.

Re: 200 Central (2019) - 293' / 27 Stories

I wish they'd bring back that light-bar from the 12th street apartments proposal. I think as dumb as it sounds, that simple addition would have made us all pleased with the design even with the reduction in height relative to Alia. It would add something unique to the building.

Re: Alia Tower - 200 Central - 483' / 40 Stories

@Twincitizen agreed. As long as this gets built, and relatively soon, I will be more than happy to see a 300 ft building that I still think looks nice rise on that side of the river. Will continue to add to that skyline and add density the area.

Re: Vicinity - 205 Park Avenue (Mill District Ramp Parcel)

Sister lives directly next door, they can not wait to have a bakery and hopefully get that brewpub. Those would be two huge pieces that would make Downtown east feel like a real neighborhood. I have to say - seeing this building in person I love it. The design and materials are interesting which fit...

Re: C Line - Penn Avenue North Rapid Bus

Not to get political, but if we had an administration that explicitly and actively supported city's improving public transport, I would hope to see our local government seize on the opportunity and push through some bold policy's like the Greenway streetcar/light-rail. One can hope.

Also the restaurant space in the Vicinty at 205 Park Ave will possibly be home to a Heritage-Grain Brewpub along with the already planned bakery on the other corner per mspmag.com http://mspmag.com/eat-and-drink/foodie/would-you-invest-in-a-heritage-grain-brew-pub/ Would live to see a brewpub in thi...

Re: C Line - Penn Avenue North Rapid Bus

Agreed with the B Line statement. Incredible density and foot traffic in the area that will only continue to expand. I would also add that we may be surprised by the ridership numbers on the B line compared to the #21 bus. I live in Uptown and most of my friends live there and none of them use the b...

I like the sounds of both of those alternative routes. You would still need a way to connect to Target's northern campus, correct? Or is the alternative to skip that entirely?

Re: Cambria / Fairfield Hotels - 41 10th Street N (former Ramada block)

You'd have to think both. Lots of reports of businesses on that side of downtown writing to the city to clean up the crime because it has been impacting their business. Also the lack of development has to be to blame as well- bad streets, poor lighting, large empty parking lots, etc at night is not ...

There's no way that guest parking can stay, but a great project. Have always admired that building, would love to see some improved exterior lighting.
