Re: Nicollet Mall

Buses are easily the worst aspect of the mall right now for me. They're loud, spew fumes and pile up 4 deep constantly. No one is going to go on that center island when they have to dodge buses constantly. Also is this planning in conjunction with the street car? Or is that later and they will have ...

Re: Theater Garage Marquee Apartments - (Franklin & Lyndale)

About Le Parisien though is it's not abandoned. Just the retail hasn't leased, and having walked past it hundreds of times, it's a good looking building. Abandoned buildings that are falling apart and unkempt are bad for a neighborhood, sure, but no buildings going up around uptown will be abandoned...

I think its just them trying to diversify their holding away from just casinos, and considering the train wreck that was the downtown Minneapolis proposal casino I doubt they are looking for a casino in St. Paul.

Re: Blue Line (Hiawatha LRT)

Yeah pedestrian gate arms seems pretty silly, if the person isn't deterred from crossing by the flashing lights and blaring noise, I doubt a little gate would convince them.

Re: Public Transit News and Happenings

The 12 was over 20 min late getting from uptown to downtown this morning. Would be nice to get some rail to uptown
I remember 2 years ago after a big snow, the 113, ALL the 113s were an hour+ late, then about 4 or 5 of them struggled up lyndale all at once. Good grief.

This one should finally get going in December. An excerpt from the Star Tribune is below. From Star Trib "Mortenson Development plans to build a 30-story, 262-unit apartment tower called 4Marq at the corner of 4th Street and Marquette Avenue S. to complete the block. Mortenson spokesman Camero...

Re: Super Talls

...at about 844 feet the OKC tower is a "Super Tall" given its relative placement; yet, it's just 50 feet taller than the IDS building (which IMO is amongst the classics, if not a top 20 world wide design). My friends, do you think it is a an aesthetically pleasing addition to OKC's downt...
