Re: Green Line (Central Corridor LRT)
Here's the view from the parking ramp near Central Station in St. Paul on Saturday. Love this spot! https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7402/16369118085_ed10feea3e_z.jpg Great pic! Are there plans for anything to go into that triangular empty space next to the station or is it just going to stay an open...

Re: Rumors!
Hey everyone go click through the first few pages of this thread I think that the United States Capitol will be moved to Minneapolis in the next couple years. This is a good prediction and it makes a lot of sense to me. The time is right for us to move our federal seat of government and build a new...

Just found that while searching Google. Seems like a good guy. I'm really curious how he fits in to all this. Has anyone sent him an email?

(Side-note: The page for Rick Christenson, aka Rick Christenson , is equally untraceable.) I think you meant to put "aka retiredbanker". But yes this is so baffling to me as well. The only thing I don't get is the motive. Why? Edit: apparently R etiredBanker written as one word defaults t...

Re: Minnesota Multi Purpose Stadium
Most stadiums are surrounded by blocks of parking and are far outside the urban core, while ours is within 2 blocks of the CBD and will eventually/already is surrounded by new highrise development. My first instinct was to agree with you, but I found this chart which reveals it's actually a pretty ...

Re: Minnesota Multi Purpose Stadium
Speaking of semi-open air stadiums, has anyone seen the fly through video for Atlanta's proposed stadium? Their retractable roof is pretty awesome. EDIT: Link below. Also, I guess to relate it to us... it's too bad we couldn't have done something more along the of their roof to achieve that open ai...

Downtown St Paul Freeways
This article that was posted somewhere on this forum a while back about urban freeways ruining cities. It got me thinking about what could have been and remedies moving forward, specifically in St Paul. How do you think the city would be different if it hadn't plopped a freeway between the capitol,...

Re: St. Paul Office Market
What was the justification then? Admittedly I'm not super familiar with both sides of the issue, I just know it was shoved in to the budget bill last minute.I think it's fair to say that a lack of available office space in DT St. Paul was *not* the justification for the new Senate building.

Great point! They had to have known about it too, since it was apparently on the market for a while, right?I'm sure 800k sf would have housed senators with plenty of room.

Tryg's is closing too...

I don't get to uptown much, but from a distance it seems like restaurants in the area closing at a high rate. What's the reason for this? Or am I just imagining it?
