This PP article seems to have the most complete info so far, including a lot of interesting facts I haven't seen eslewhere: http://www.twincities.com/business/ci_23629472/vikings-stadium-minneapolis-downtown-development-near-site-coming [Wells Fargo] hopes to buy the top 12 floors of each of the two...

Re: Minneapolis & St. Paul Fantasies and Speculations

Nice work, Avian!

Homer, the Hines site for WFC lists WF first on the list of tenants: http://www.hines.com/property/detail.aspx?id=225. They have ~7,000 employees downtown (not at Honeywell campus). That's a pretty big chunk of space.

This is the first 1C render I've run across since Mayo pulled out and they flipped the hotel and office locations around:

New details: Ryan or another party may develop about 45 units on the south side of the "McClellan" ramp off Park between 3rd and 4th. Development rights over or adjacent to said ramp might also be offered. Also, The Yard will cost $10-15 mil, possibly funded from the sale of development r...

Re: Mall of America - Bloomington

So again, I'm consfused......how does this $2+ billion expansion work together with the $250 million expansion they are currently planning on doing? Are both occurring, or is it one or the other? Look at the graphic on the last page. It indicates "Phase 1C" and "Phase 2". The ar...

Re: Your Vision of a Perfect Transit Station

I guess the type of shop I'm thinking of are the ones in Chicago, which are outside the turnstyles. Most of the people I see stopping to buy a coffee or paper at, say, Roosevelt or Halsted (Orange), are people who have just gotten off the train and are going to wait for a bus. It's practical to stan...

Re: Mall of America - Bloomington

That long concourse makes me a little worried. While the attractions on the north end should draw people up there, being a dead-end while the rest of the main concourses form a loop, they will need to do something to make it not feel like an elongated Eden Prairie Center.

Ridiculous. What a waste. We can't tunnel under Washington, 5th, Nicollet, Hennepin, or Broadway, but we can tunnel under Kennilworth?

Re: Your Vision of a Perfect Transit Station

Now, in the world of *urban* transit, I'd like to see retail in the light rail stations. Nothing big, just a newspaper/magazine/coffee place would be great. Actually, even vending machines would help. I see there is a vending machine in Lake St. / Midtown now, that's a start. This is particularly n...

I didn't realize they were starting already, but I believe this is the phase 1 plan for Humphrey approved last fall: EDIT: It looks like the new landside terminal expansion on the east end and the skyway to the parking ramp have already been built. I would be interested in finding out what exactly t...

Re: Beg Buttons

I haven't pushed one of these in years. I very rarely ride my bike on a path rather than the street, so I can't think of any situations like the ones you are describing. As a pedestrian, I generally jaywalk when there are breaks in traffic rather than waiting for a signal. If there is heavy traffic ...

Re: LPM Apartments - (1368 LaSalle Avenue)

They must lease the spots out in the summer or something-- typically about 60% of that lot is used for recess and only about 40% for parking. It would be nice to tear up that lot, but for a soccer or baseball field, not for a tower. There are plenty of other spaces to add density other than this lot.

Re: Arterial Transit Corridor Study ("rapid bus")

But, if we're talking about Metro Transit taking over and bringing it all the way out to Rosedale, as an alternative to a NE radial LRT line, I think it makes a lot of sense, hitting the U and Fair while using preexisting tracks for part of the route.

Having tried to ride a city bus in Chicago I can say that it wasn't a very pleasant experience. First, I had no idea how much the fare was. As our power outage neared the 4-day mark I took my sister to MOA, and was reminded of how awkward malls are.

Anyways, they really are digging at the Lindau Lane project.

Unless it's Virgin Atlantic metal replacing the DL 767-400, no. My guess is they might start other markets like Seattle or possibly Salt Lake City to London. The Delta announcement just refers to the expanded options due to the joint venture, such as Dulles, Orlando, Miami, Las Vegas, and Chicago w...
