Re: Uptown General Topics & Development Map
$100 per month for water and trash? Woof. The only way a tenant would get their money's worth is if they just never turned their water off.

Re: Uptown Retail & Restaurant News
Went to The Mansion at Uptown on Friday. Spent a grand total of about 15 minutes there. It's supposed to be a nightclub, but it hardly has a dance floor, littered with empty VIP tables and no place to sit other than those empty VIP tables. Very odd layout.

Re: AC Marriott Hotel (401 Hennepin Ave / Andrews Hotel site)
The difference between this side of the street and the other is now quite jarring.
My thoughts too... The 90's is an icon, but I wish the building was in better shape.

Of course, always needed a place to park my car after driving in from the burbs.

Re: 365 Nicollet - (Opus Ritz block)
I'm with EOst, height is a distraction that can cause mid-size cities similar to ours to misdiagnose their issues. Ten blocks of four-to-six-story brownstone-like apartment buildings would do much more for our city than a couple status symbols that worldwide skyscraper fans briefly talk about. This...

Re: Soccer Stadium and Snelling-Midway Development
You're missing my point. The article is saying that MnDOT and Met Council think more people will drive than what the team is estimating. This is likely done in effort for the team to build more parking. I'm saying Lambeau Field is an example with very little structured parking and can handle the tra...

Re: Soccer Stadium and Snelling-Midway Development
I've said it in this thread before, but something we should mention to our elected officials. Lambeau Field, a stadium nearly 4x the size of this one, has very limited dedicated parking facilities for a stadium its size. A large percentage of attendees at Packers games park in the surrounding neighb...

Re: Embassy Suites (Plymouth Building) - 12 6th Street S
Are my eyes deceiving me, or do the ground level windows have a blue hue to them? I walked by today, and couldn't tell if there was some film or lining on the interior side. Either way, it is looking really sharp. Hard to imagine that this will be an Embassy Suites - I never think of downtown or be...

I get your point, but the last thing the light rail needs the other 360 days a year is more stops downtown. You know what would help the crowding and crushing of people at the LRT station after games/events? A second platform on the north side of the stadium /deadhorse

Oldish news... heard on the radio that Louis CK did a small show at ACME, donating all proceeds to "fight for their cause". Of course the DJs said if this project goes through ACME will have to move or close.

Anyone know what's going to happen with the grass now that the event is over? It'd be a shame if it all hit the compost pile.

It's got the feeling of a people's square in China. A big blank space of nothingness flanked by a colossal building to remind the citizenry of omnipresent power of government.

Re: White Castle and Holiday at Central & Hennepin
I live in a condo in this area and am completely in favor of an expanded gas station and a car wash. With the number of housing units scheduled to be built in the area, there is a need for this. Expecting all of the residents of this area to drive elsewhere to get gas and wash their cars is not goo...

No auto flushes means those who choose may abide by the 'If it's yellow let it mellow' rule. True, and lets be honest... The actual toilets just eventually become urinals that waste more water than regular urinals. Hopefully they installed dual flush handles (up for pee, down for poo). I pity the m...
