Re: District 600 - (600 Fifth Street North)
Now that I look at it again that one section on the left does look cockeyed. Thanks.

Re: District 600 - (600 Fifth Street North)
I'm sure that's just distortion due to the lens being pointed upward. It will skew the lines depending on how much you tilt the camera upward. None of these buildings are leaning. Also, it looks unsteady, thoughts on that?

Re: "A Line" Snelling Avenue Arterial Bus
The Penn Avenue C-Line will have articulated buses per the meeting I was at earlier this month. They state that articulated buses could be used on future arterial lines, which I imagine the first would be the D-Line (Chicago-Fremont, or today's Route 5).

Re: Pillsbury "A" Mill Redevelopment
The point is that most working artists can't afford a place like this. This opens a housing choice to them that is typically only available to well-to-do professionals. It's great that you'd be willing spend "a lot of money" for a place like this. That must mean you can afford any number o...

Re: Vikings Stadium Legislation/Financing Package
Are we sure the corporate tax is being thought of as the long term solution? Unless the e-pulltabs miraculously recover the corporate tax loophole IS the primary long-term funding source. It was supposed to be a part of the governor's tax reform push and go to the general fund, but was repurposed t...

Re: Bicycle Infrastructure
I recently attended a 26th Avenue North reconstruction meeting with the three neighborhood organizations affected, the engineers and a sleepy CM Yang. The rebuild will included two 13 foot lanes, 6 foot boulevards, a pair of five foot sidewalks and most importantly an 8 foot bike path. Bike Coalitio...

Re: IPR Building - (314 Washington Ave N)
It is on the edge of the Menomonee Valley, which is the former industrial heart of the city. The adjacent viaduct flies over the valley, downtown on one end and the Iron Horse on the other. The Iron Horse is on the northern edge of Walker's Point, which is home to a bunch of Mexican restaurants. It'...

Re: Bottineau LRT (Blue Line Extension)
I have to question the remote possibility of a surface running LRT along Broadway. The row is significantly narrower than University. Maybe it's wide enough, but I'm not an expert. Also the assertion, that's been made a couple of times, that we could just widen the corridor is questionable at best. ...

Re: Downtown East Project (Ryan Companies / Wells Fargo)
I've been in meetings with CPED for my photography project in Downtown East and asked about this. They said that the two were unrelated and that Downtown East didn't effect Bassett's Creek Valley. Are there other potential tenants looking for a million square feet of office space?

Re: West Broadway Corridor
I still don't get why a streetcar wouldn't continue to follow W. Broadway through Robbinsdale (with a few "detours" to get there). Oakdale to West Broadway via France goes through the core of the North Memorial campus. It's probably the most logical route to Broadway. It's just a frontage...

Re: Satori Minneapolis (Broadway from Aldrich-Emerson)
Jeff's already all over this. A number of my Northside preservationist friends including Jeff, Brian Finstad, Will Lumpkins, etc are definitely in favor of pushing this development across the street. The consensus at the WBC meeting was that these storefronts are important to West Broadway's future....

Re: Satori Minneapolis (Broadway from Aldrich-Emerson)
They don't own any of the buildings as of now. They would need to acquire from a half dozen or more landowners. Since the proposal came to light many of these owners have applied for facade improvement grants from the West Broadway Coalition. On the other hand Sherman owns the property across the st...

First thing is that I live in Jordan and am a board member on the Jordan Area Community Council. I've had to make votes on many of these projects over the past year. Most of the outcry for a moratorium on affordable housing in north is coming from north of Lowry and the Folwell neighborhood in parti...

Re: Satori (Broadway from Aldrich-Emerson)
David, there is a group of people that have been thinking about ways to preserve this stretch and the 4th Street buildings. They did some guerrilla facade improvement this week at the 4th Street buildings. I'm sure they'd like some allies. I've been a little out of their loop as I've been busy with ...

And Hawthorn may have one of my favorite buildings in the city, that old painted brownstone walk up on 26th avenue and 4th street. Looks like the buildings we all wish this city was full of. I'm guessing this is the one you're taking about. I actually don't think it's painted. I believe it's Missis...

Moves to HPC to for demo of historic resource vote. I doubt the HPC would recommend demoing a staff recommended historic resource. Some folks have already applied for historic landmark status.

I just don't want to use the wrong tool to do that (even if it achieves the desired goal) because I think the tool is broken, and I want to fix the tool, as well as create a proper tool. I agree, but still hope that the supporting historical information provided will sway John Smoley. That will put...
