Southwest Corridor (Green Line Extension)
Dayton calls Minneapolis tunnels for Southwest LRT the 'only option' "Gov. Mark Dayton on Tuesday said a plan to run the Southwest Corridor through tunnels in the Kenilworth corridor of Minneapolis is flawed but the “only option” for the light-rail line to advance. His comments came on the eve ...

Re: Knollwood Mall - St. Louis Park
The new Applebee's has been open a month now. Been there a couple times since (Love the $5 pitchers on Mon) and now that the new paint smell is gone. I hate to report that there is still a handful of incomplete projects. The dimer switch does not work. That makes for a very bright bar atmosphere tha...

Re: Downtown Restaurant News
Having been to the 90's a couple times I am not so sure having the windows open up to the street would be a very good idea  Nor do I think anyone on the inside want people on the outside to see how wild it can get. Put some new paint on it, but I like the idea of what happens in the 90's stays...

Re: Minnesota Multi Purpose Stadium
How did this thread turn into almost two pages of ill informed posts? A basic Wiki or Google search or even reading this entire thread will answer what ever Q you might have. The new Vikings stadium will have a larger capacity! A simple search finds that in the 30 years of Metrodome football they in...

Re: Downtown East Project (Ryan Companies / Wells Fargo)
So in the renderings for the two Wells Fargo towers. I noticed they had Wells Fargo signage on the side of the building near the top as well as on the roof itself. I recall the roof signs being approved, but did the signs on the side of the towers also pass?

I really do not see a big deal about the Nazi themed dinner parties. Some over sensitive types might get uppity about it. However I really do not let up tight sensitive types dictate where I drink. Only been there once before done the boot. Yes I want to try the boot again. The college crowd, young ...

Re: Stadium Parking Ramp Air Rights Development
I would be very surprised if the Mortenson proposal was anything but serious. A company doesn't publicly announce a new hotel brand into the market without first conducting many meetings, phone calls, and preliminary contracts. Hundreds of (expensive) labor hours have already been spent coming up on...

You all just need to go back a handful of pages to read about the Star Tribune being torn down. The demo side of this forum gave there side the save this building gave there side the Medallions are going to be saved. No reason for regulars to read the same thing over and over about this building whe...

Re: Downtown East Project (Ryan Companies / Wells Fargo)
And what are the small parking lots on the north side of the towers for? Midblock plazas! Really? Seems like it also could be an area for pick up/drop off for the apartments. I enjoyed watching the video and how this project will better enhance linking the two sides of downtown that seemed to be so...

Once the talk of mixed use buildings turned over to the armory I may or may not have nipped it in the bud to soon. I felt that just a couple posts would turn into a page of armory posts. I got that impression from other topics in the Minneapolis thread like the Opus thread talking about park space w...

Re: Knollwood Mall - St. Louis Park
Anondson I like your ideas of how you would have liked Knollwood to turn out. I have always thought of how cool it would be to pull the road from the creak to create more of a walking/bike trail and extra park space. with apts/condos across the newly moved street. However at least in the near term y...

I think it's also only a matter of time before we hear about a new concept at The Armory across the park This should really be turned into the Minneapolis version of Seattle's Pike's Place , Manhattan's Chelsea Market, or West Side Market in Cleveland. We'll have to see if there is any developer bo...

It looks fine for what it is. This is the definition of infill. Most everybody from the south, west, and east wont even be able to see it. With limited views from the north. I am not advocating ugly buildings but in the context of where and how tall this building is just doesn't justify expanding th...

This is some exciting news! I hope an unlocked version gets released soon so I can read more about the specs of this project. For everybody who is already bemoaning this project needs to chill. Unless you have seen the render, site plan, and what type of materials will be used just need to relax. As...

For those who wish to know the end of Knollwood mall as we know it today is starting its transformation into what we have seen in the renders. I have to add that before any shovel hits the dirt Stanton has already spent a significant amount of time and money. This project wasn't just conceived weeks or even months ago. The owner has sat on this land for years knowing full well the longer he sits on it the more it will cost to develop. Now ...

Re: New Bell Museum/Planetarium
So how would this effect the efforts to put the planetarium on top of the MPLS central library? Would this be one of the rare cases where planing a building in advance for such a heavy addition become nothing at all? If your spending the millions to build a brand new planetarium why not put it where...
