Surprised no one has posted anything about this. Pretty excited for this.

It would be amazing to see all the old commercial spaces in the area get this kind of treatment.

Re: 1500 Nicollet Half Block
While I don't think the current buildings are worthy of historic designation, etc. they do have their own charm - they just need to be cleaned up and get better tenants. A quality restaurant on that corner in the current 15th Street Market building could be a huge draw/improvement to the area. Huge ...

I hope they open as well. On a different note - stumbled across this men's tailor/clothing store in the Northstar Center http://www.martymathisclothiers.com/shop/. Surprised I hadn't heard of them before. Not that I need custom designed clothing, but pretty cool. Too bad they aren't open on the week...

Unfortunately, I think Luce's quality has gone way down. Recently had a pizza delivered last week from the S. Mpls./Lyndale location and barely finished it off - no flavor whatsoever. Perhaps due to it's expansion model, or being spoiled by the flavors/quality of other pizzerias - Punch, Lola?

Any new retail downtown is good news.
Also - walking around the warehouse district, noticed Shoesters is moving in next to C'est Chic in Whitney Square.

Re: Eat Street
Happy/excited they are finally open and wishing them the best. Hopefully a 24/hour place will help deter some of the sketchy looking people that seem to be hanging out in this area of Nicollet lately. I have high hopes that with the streetcar line - this area and the rest of Nicollet gets cleaned up...

Re: Duluth Business News
Enjoyed a beautiful day up in Duluth yesterday with my Mom for her b-day. We enjoyed checking things out - rose garden, Leif Erickson Park, Canal Park (enjoyed lunch at Canal Park Brewing Co. - highly recommend). Things were hopping. Also took some pics in Old Downtown. Really love this city - so ma...

Re: Soo Line Building Apartments - (501 Marquette Avenue)
I am sorry but I am really disappointed with this project. Granted I haven't been inside any of the units, but the lobby/shared areas look really cheap and will be dated very quickly. Wish they would've gone with an elegant, timeless look. Simple, clean. Even fake plants!

I visited a friend who has an apartment here the other day. Thought the building/apartments were well designed and appeared to be built with quality materials.

There are signs on the first and skyway levels of RBC Plaza for some new salad bar-concept restaurants to be opening up. Obviously "healthy fast-food" style establishments.

Did a little digging to see if there were any headlines about Office Depot's closing and came across this article from a few years ago about a lawsuit. Interesting.

Don't know if anyone else has noticed but Office Depot in City Center is closing. Honestly happy to see this happen! Hopefully a sign of new development/redevelopment of City Center - at least exterior along Nicollet Mall.

Re: Downtown Minneapolis - General Topics
Saw the idea of a holiday market coming. Personally - I liked the idea of the Holidazzle Parade and agree that it's too bad the city can't do both, at least have the parade 1 night as a final hurrah. Still - like the idea of a market too - hopefully they can get Peavey renovated and open the sunken ...
