I also remember one that started from Normandale Community College that ended at Opus and no it wasn't that weird trolly bus that went back and forth from SW station.
Took it once or twice but not sure if its still a thing

Re: Discontinued Bus Routes
Route 12 has been dead for like 6-7 years iirc, G branch used to be an am westbound from downtown that used to make a full run down mainstreet in Hopkins, C either served United health or Opportunity Partners I'm not sure which, the circles have always been a mess. not sure what the 70 is about, may...

Re: Freight Rail News and Happenings
I know their nowhere near the neck of the world but does anyone have a rundown on what the hell is happening with NS? I tried to do some basic surface level digging and it kept kinda seems like both the current NS board/CEO and the investment firm trying to oust them are accusing the other of being ...

Anyone still old enough to remember rainbow?
I also wonder how well the bulk wearhouse stores because I can't be the only one who's noticed there are fewer Sam's clubs around the cities and a few Costco's seem to close sooner

Re: Northstar Commuter Rail
Part of me wants to wager which will happen first
the US will get true HSR first in one shape or form (i.e NEC upgrades, CAHSR, brightline west, etc) and start to make some progress after decades of trying
Or Northstar being extended 30ish miles
It's neck and neck tbh

Re: Fantasy maps
I always like to joke that there's plenty of room for a station if you give the Twins a new stadium, I mean 25 ish years is the general shelflife for stadiums The Twins moved out of the Metrodome after 25 years, and the Vikings left after 30 Both teams left Metropolitan Stadium after 20. And the no...

Re: Bicycle Infrastructure
Does anyone have any video's of the old trails around the metro? I found some old video's of the Cedar Lake Regional Trail before construction for SWLRT started 5-6 years ago and got an unintended wave of nostalgia and I swear there used to be another gravel travel besides the Luce Line, Minnetonka,...

Re: Transit Crime
I remember awhile ago if eating on the bus is considered an offensive because iirc they have it listed as things to not do inside of every vehicle along side smoking and blasting music without any headphones. I'm not going to pretend I used to always do that when I needed to get to an afternoon clas...

Re: Lutsen
Well I know a few people who are going to the lutsen 99er that have to find new bookings. I know a guy who's a bit convinced that this, Papa Charlie's and the Grand Marais fire 4 years ago all where from people unhappy about all the tourism up the north shore. Don't really believe it but did joke wi...

Re: Transit Crime
The only number that mater are the ridership numbers, if transit is viewed as "safe" then more and more people will be willing to ride again, although if there's still a lingering fear about it then the recent increase might start to slow down and or plateau.

Re: Public Transit News / Current Events (MN only)
If they do add the ability to use a normal credit/debit, is there any reason to keep the original go-to card around? Wouldn't it be annoying to have lots of small transactions on a credit card statement, or *particularly* a checking account statement? It's so much nicer to have fewer, larger transa...

Re: Public Transit News / Current Events (MN only)
If they do add the ability to use a normal credit/debit, is there any reason to keep the original go-to card around? The people who use transit everyday have probably opted for a 7 or 30 day pass and those who may not have access to a credit/debit card probably can sign up for a Transit Assistance P...

Yep, although to be fair I haven't seen a lot of of hyperbolic statements for or against NLX (or at least compared to other projects I can think of), but its still there and still can negatively effect the project.

Re: Northern Lights Express
In my more cynical moments I kinda view some politicians who are "transit advocates" as people who want to either be the ones who will sign a bill/law that gives a project funding or to be the ones that cut the ribbon when it opens but make sure to be missing when its neck deep in construc...

This might sound stupid
But part of me thinks it would of been better to put the bike trail in the tunnel instead.

https://youtu.be/C16SDtppKBg?si=mEriQyq5khusvf8W Watching this video I kinda wonder how well swapping the parking and bike lanes would work in the cites (can't recall any that do so). Re: Northern Lights Express
Isn't the NSSR just a tourist train run by volunteers that only runs a few round trips during the spring to fall? As cool as it would be to see it extended, I don't see it being turned into a proper mass transit system since they seem to be lacking in infrastructure, equipment, manpower, and demand ...

Re: Green Line Extension - Southwest LRT
Probably suited for the other thread but wonder how crowded the trail will be since Kenilworth closed years before e scooters and e bikes took off and I think it will still be one of the most popular ways to get from downtown to uptown for awhile (what's the ETA for the bike lanes all the way down H...
