Re: Elk Run Biobusiness Park (Pine Island)
What ramp in ZUmbrota, as there are two. The northern one has little reason to exist other than it being a state highway between Wanimingo and Zumbrota, where the southern ramp has quite a bit of businesses catering to the freeway and it's also the main street of Zumbrota as well as another state hi...

Re: Twin Cities to Eau Claire regional rail
I'd like the HSR to run through to Rochester up to the Twin Cities then over to Eau CLaire meeting up again at Tomah. However the cost would probably make it unfeasible.

This would be a lot better if it were a commercial building. As a residential building without balconies and calling itself luxury, HA.

Re: Downtown East - Wells Fargo / Radisson Red / Edition Apt
^^^It sounds as if you are only commenting on the grass part of his idea. As for the other part I have stated the same proposal which gets no comments. I still think it's a great idea to close the street except for emergency vehicles which could activate the gates like they do with semaphores. As fo...

I like those block shiny areas. From the ground it will look like there are chunks of the building missing. Dare I say iconic?

Re: Downtown East (Ryan Companies / Wells Fargo / Radisson R
So are they already building The Edition? I thought that wasn't going to be built until some time after the park was in place. Or was it market conditions dictating when it was to be built? I was hoping to have the entire park in place for a bit before the apartment building was built in hopes that ...

How much better does the economy have to be before something gets done here before the mall gets the renovation and expansion east?
Never mind. Having a rough day.

Re: 315 Nicollet - (Opus Ritz block)
Because they charge so much for that space. If they made the rent reasonable they'd have a business in those locations and people would go to them. The street level retail is where the owners should charge very little to get that interaction and possible tenants because of the retail activity. Who w...

Re: Nicollet Hotel Block
If United can't get their proposal built I think the city should step back and make a plan that is concrete in what they expect and not let them fudge their way under the proposal. I also feel that they need to open it up, when they do resubmit, to National Developers too. Give them a real time lin...

Gosh I remember the Chateau Theater in Rochester. What a beautiful theater. If anyone has been inside the Suburban in Uptown, it was like that but 10X better.
Ah, talking about the above article got me remembering of days gone by.

Re: Nicollet Hotel Block
Other than the Ritz Block and whatever may or may not happen on the Nicollet block the only other cranes that will shortly be downtown would be the the two Stinson projects, all others across the river. Glass half empty or half full? I do feel that none of them are architectural masterpieces ....not...

Seems to be a bit of a slap in the face to Rochester and the DMC. Wow 3,800. workers, not to mention where they spend their money and the new jobs that too will create. New campus with up to 3,800 new employees in La Crosse area, just down the road from Rochester. http://www.startribune.com/business...

Re: Rochester
That parking lot has been there for years. I remember 40 years ago when I first got my license parking there. I'm sure it's time for it to come down. Not to mention that circular ramp. On another note I hope they don't build anything too tall next to the river and actually help to accent/embrace the...
